A Patriot's Prayer
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, And cause thine anger toward us to cease.
5 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: That thy people may rejoice in thee?
On the 245th birthday of our nation, I find it hard to celebrate...
We, as a young country in comparison to the other nations, are a very young country...
We have not a history of thousands of years, just hundreds… and though that may seem long in our comparison to our length of days - it is small compared to human history.
We have turned away from the blessings of the Almighty on our land...
We have chosen a course that we feel entitled to travel - even though it is against the very plan of the Creator of the world.
America has need of REVIVAL!
4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, And cause thine anger toward us to cease.
As history has shown us, nations that turn away from God will face judgment - and that doesn’t have to be the case!
This morning, I want to speak to you on the subject:

Pray:
America, today, is on a collision course, and I, for one, am greatly alarmed.
I heard about a battleship cruising through the North Atlantic at night. A message came to the admiral, and the message said, “Admiral, there’s a bright light directly in front of us. What are your instructions?”
The admiral said, “Send them a message: ‘Alter your course 30 degrees to the south.’ ” They sent the message.
Quick as a flash, the message came back. “You alter your course 30 degrees to the north.”
It infuriated the old admiral. He sent another message. He said, “Tell them this: ‘I am the admiral. I said, “You alter your course 30 degrees to the south.’ ”
The message came back, “I am a second-class seaman. You alter your course 30 degrees to the north.”
The admiral said, “Send them this message: ‘I’m an admiral. I’m in a battleship. You alter your course 30 degrees to the south.’ ”
The message came back again: “This is a second-class seaman. You alter your course 30 degrees to the north. I am in a lighthouse!”

Now friend, God is that lighthouse, and He’s not moving.
America is on a collision course with Him. And the old ship of state is going under, unless we alter our course.
World powers of:

Greek
Babylonian
Medo-Persia
Country’s / cities that turned away from God found themselves under the great judgment of Almighty God -
Israel / Judah
Sodom and Gomorra
Nations and people groups that have been overcome, obliterated or assimilated into other nations...
I have heard it said that if God doesn’t judge America he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorra...
Now - God owes no man an apology for anything, but in keeping with the justice of our God, we know that judgment is coming UNLESS THERE IS A CHANGE.
The Plea for Revival

Self surrendering Revival

to recover
to renew - to the former state...
Revival is a work of God in the heart of his people - But we have to seek it - desire it… pray for it...
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: That thy people may rejoice in thee?
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The People of Revival

Us -
U.S.
In that day, it was the nation of Israel - they were recognizing their great need of revival in their lives...
Do we sense a need for revival
Have we grown complacent to the sin:
of our own self
of our town, community, state
Our country -
Sin is heralded everywhere...
immorality
of every vice imaginable
of every voice - proclaiming their “right” to
murder babies
live in adultery, sodomy -
evil is good and good is evil
Apathy
unwillingness to get involved...
video showing a woman being beaten on the streets of NY - people passing by - going into the stores -
Men - closing the door and just watching through the storefront -
Until we want change -
Until we see our great need for God and for good in our country -
Until we submit ourselves and become involved in the brokenness of society - we will no have revival.
Poor / needy
addicted and abused
broken -
people walking around without hope in their life…
Know Jesus - KNOW peace
NO JESUS - NO PEACE...

The Purpose of Revival
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: That thy people may rejoice in thee?

Revivals purpose is about relationship
It’s about knowing the Lord
It’s about following the Lord
It’s about testifying about the Lord
REVIVAL & REJOICING
distance from the Lord steal our joy… no joy - no re joy
sin steals our joy -

Create in me a clean heart, O God;
And renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence;
And take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
And uphold me with thy free spirit.

The Lord loves you and wants to have an intimate and personal relationship with you an me...
America… we need REVIVAL
