Removing the stumbling blocks

Acts 2:37–40 NKJV
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” 40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”
Isaiah 57:14 NKJV
14 And one shall say, “Heap it up! Heap it up! Prepare the way, Take the stumbling block out of the way of My people.”
There are many stumbling blocks in the way of God’s people who are ordain for the salvation of God according to his forknowledge.
Luke 11:52 NKJV
52 “Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.”
Jesus is reffering to those who were expert in the law of Moses (modern day theologens and biblical sholars). They, through their teaching have hindered people from entering into the Kindgdom of God. They had taken the key of Knowledge.
Todays teaching is designed to remove this obstacles that the enemy has placed to prevent people from entering into the Kingdom of God, from being saved.
It is also designed to help you remove this obstacles from other people life when you witness to them.

Obstacle 1 Baptsim in the name of the Father, of the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:16–20 NKJV
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Many people wothout examining other portion of scripture on baptism, ust holding on to this one scripture have mislead many to believe that baptsim should be in the literal phrase “of the father, of the Son, of the Holys spirit”.
They do not realise that all the people baptised were baptised in Jesus name.
All the people baptised in Jesus name in the Bible.
300 souls baptised in Jesus name in the day of Pentecost
Acts 2:38–41 NKJV
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” 40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
The people of Samaria were baptised in Jesus name
Acts 8:14–16 NKJV
14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, 15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Cornelious and his household were baptised in Jesus name
Acts 10:45–48 NKJV
45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
The Ephesians believers were baptised in Jesus name
Acts 19:1–6 NKJV
1 And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples 2 he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4 Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
The Ephesian believers were baptised in Jesus name by the Apostle Paul
This is Paul who wrote to the Ephesian believers in:
Ephesians 4:4–6 NKJV
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
The one baptism that Paul was referring to, is the baptism that Paul administered to them. The baptism in Jesus name
The Apostle Paul was baptised in Jesus name
Acts 22:13–16 NKJV
13 came to me; and he stood and said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight.’ And at that same hour I looked up at him. 14 Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth. 15 For you will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard. 16 And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
So why Did Jesus say to the Desciples in
Matthew 28:19 NKJV
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all titles and not names and they are titles of the same Person who is Jesus.
Jesus is the Father,
Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
John 8:23–24 KJV 1900
23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
John 8:27 NKJV
27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.
John 8:56–59 NKJV
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” 59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Exodus 3:13–14 NKJV
13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
John 14:7–10 KJV 1900
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Jesus is the Holy Spirit
2 Corinthians 3:16–17 NKJV
16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Jesus Christ is the Son
Matthew 1:21 NKJV
21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Obstacle 2 The teaching that baptism is not necessary for salvation

Baptism is not something that you do to be saved but rather an outword symbol of your salvation and belief in Christ.
“Very simply, baptism is an outward testimony of the inward change in a believer’s life”
Mark 16:15–16 NKJV
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
in agreement to Acts 2:37-38,
the desciples preached the Gospel,
the people believed and asked what they should do?
they were told to repent and be be baptised in Jesus name for the remmission of sins
1 Peter 3:19–21 KJV 1900
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
The Apostle Peter beleived that baptsim is essential for salvation, just like the way it saved Noah and his family, it saves us from the Judgement that is to come.
Acts 4:12 NKJV
12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
What happens in Baptism
1. Our Sins is washed away
Acts 2:38 NKJV
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Our sins are not washed away if we have not been baptised in Jesus name
Acts 22:16 NKJV
16 And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
Apostle Paul was told to not linger but to wash away his sins in baptism through the saving name of Jesus Christ
Jesus died and rose again for remission of Sins to be preached in his name
Luke 24:45–47 NKJV
45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. 46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
We receive forgiveness of sins in his name in baptism.
Those people who have not been baptised in Jesus name have not received forgiveness of sins.
2. We put off the Sinful body and we put on the heveanly body of Christ Jesus
Colossians 2:8–14 NKJV
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. 11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Verse 13, happens in baptism
our uncercumcised sinful body together with it’s sins is burried in the water, when we are baptised in Jesus name.
This is how we are set free from sin
Romans 6:1–8 NKJV
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
Through burial with Christ in Baptism, we are set free from the slavery of sin, because the body of sin and death is removed.
We put on Body of Christ
Galatians 3:26–29 NKJV
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
We put on Christ through Baptism in Jesus name. Therefore we become the Children of God.

Obstacle 3 Baptsim is worked based salvation but we are saved by grace and not of works

Ephesians 2:8–9 NKJV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
First of all this was a letter The Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesian believer whom he baptised in Jesus name.
To dismiss baptism in Jesus name based on a letter written to people who were baptised in Jesus name is absurd
What does Paul mean by works
“not of works” is very vague, that is why you have to examine the whole scriptures to come to a conclusion or you will err.
Matthew 22:29 KJV 1900
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Paul talks about works in two other passages
2 Timothy 1:9 (NKJV)
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
Titus 3:4–7 NKJV
4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
It is speaking of the works of righteousness that we do. the works of the law.
The works of God.
John 6:28–29 NKJV
28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
Believeing is the works of God
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17
Baptism is also the works of God
Colossians 2:10–13 NKJV
10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. 11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
We do not wash our sins, nor remove the sinful flesh, nor cloth ourselves with the body of Christ.
It is Christ that works all this things in the Baptismal water at the calling of his name.
Our faith is in the working of God.
Last note: to those here and who are watching
Luke 7:28–30 NKJV
28 For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” 29 And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John. 30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.
God Sent John the Baptist to baptise, but the pharisees rejected his baptism, and hence rejected the will of God for themsleves.
Jesus sent the Apostle to baptise in his name for the remission of their sins. When You reject it, you are rejecting the will of God for yourself.
