God's Dwelling

Jeremiah 23:1–6

God warns shepherds and issues a promise to unify the flock of God through good shepherds. We put our trust in God, not in humans leaders (ecclesiastical and/or civil/political). Humans can make mistakes. Humans can act out of selfishness, anger, hate, pain, etc. We should grieve when this happens within the Church. We contribute to this individually sometimes, but also corporately.
God shepherds us, not through violent force or manipulation, but by offering Godself in Christ and the nurturing of love within us for our enemies. Woe to all of us who have led anyone away from God by our words and/or deeds.
