The Bible is full of people who postponed or despised their opportunities to be blessed
Jesus - Gadarenes/Jewish
Paul and the Athenians / King Agrippa

MAIN TEXT

Exodus 8:9–10 RVR95BTO

CONTEXT

This verse is part of the narrative of the 10 Plagues sent to Egypt when the Children of Israel was about to be set free from 430 years of slavery
Pharaoh is dealing with the 2nd plague, the plague of the frogs, and when he was offered to receive prayer of deliverance, he asked Moses would pray “tomorrow”
Pharaoh is a type of all the people who choose to postpone their own blessings, to sabotage their own deliverance and a fruitful life with the Lord
Our theme today will examine this reality on the life of Pharaoh

What are the peculiar, particular marks that make you a postponer of blessings?

THEME

POSPONIENDO MIS BENDICIONES

Based on what we see in Pharaoh’s life, I can do that in 5 different ways:

1. REBELDÍA Y DUREZA DE CORAZÓN

The King of Egypt is one of the most stubborn characters of all the Bible;
He was absolutely IMPREDICTABLE
Stubborn people have the tendency to learn by pain;
Another king, Nebuchadnezer, had to learn the hard way as well.
Rebellion is one of the most dangerous things, because demons are rebellious, that is why the Bible says that rebellion is like witchcraft!
Proverbs 29:1 RVR95BTO
El hombre que, al ser reprendido, se vuelve terco, de repente y sin remedio será quebrantado.

Rebellion postpones our blessings!

2. INJUSTICIA CON LOS MENOS FAVORECIDOS

It’s a mistake to think that only people with power can bring suffering to others, all of us can be dictators in someone else’s life!
Israel was never intended to be a slave Nation, but partners and guests, however, they were treated like animals!
The way we treat people determines if wether we want or not the blessings of God in our lives;

OS QUE SABEM QUE DEVEM FAZER O BEM E NAO O FAZEM ESTÁ PECANDO

3. ESCUCHAR VOCES QUE NO LA DE DIOS

The voice of the magicians versus the voice of God;
The voices of postmodernism versus the voice of the Word of God;
Sometimes people listen more tho the horoscope than to God!

Which voices are you listening to? Who is your Counselor??

4. JUGAR CON ASUNTOS SAGRADOS

The worship demanded by God was despised by Pharaoh: only close by / only men / without your possessions
The life with God is not a game, and it should not be treated as such.

We cannot “play” being a Christian!

5. NO ENTENDER LA VERDADERA URGENCIA DE LA SITUACIÓN

Time is the most precious commodity we have in this life
Pharaoh lost the most precious thing he had, HIS SON, because he didn’t handle the seriousness and urgency of the situation, he was always saying: “tomorrow, tomorrow...”
Matthew 8:21–22 RVR95BTO
Otro de sus discípulos le dijo: —Señor, permíteme que vaya primero y entierre a mi padre. Jesús le dijo: —Sígueme; deja que los muertos entierren a sus muertos.
The Bible is clear that when it’s about the things of God, we have to be always ready TODAY! (Parable of the ten virgins)

FINAL APPLICATIONS

We have lost so many blessings in our lives because we sabotage ourselves!

Postponing “stink”, like those frogs in Egypt.
Tomorrow is never the right time, today is the day!

What can you stop postponing today? Say to the Lord: I want my frogs out TODAY!!

Psalm 119:60 RVR95BTO
Me apresuré y no me retardé en guardar tus mandamientos.
2 Corinthians 6:2 RVR95BTO
porque dice: «En tiempo aceptable te he oído, y en día de salvación te he socorrido». Ahora es el tiempo aceptable; ahora es el día de salvación.

TODAY WE CAN CHOOSE KEEPING POSTPONING OUR BLESSINGS, OR TO TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW!
