Anyway, so let's let's enjoy being family of Genesis.
And in, as we look at it.
There's there's a word that just kept coming to mind over and over.
As I was looking at this passage, and the word is legacy.
Legacy.
In fact, I want you to see the definition of legacy and good.
Our technology is working but you this morning, I don't know, but we're going to we're going to get this word a gift.
Something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or someone given special status because of a familial relationship.
Just look at that definition for a moment Legacy.
And then as we look at our portion of scripture, today, we are going to see Legacy love and land or Legacy Land of Love.
I forget what order but I think we're going to look at those things, but think about the gift.
The gifts, are you?
And I are considering today.
Is that blessing that God has given Abraham and his Descendants, the promise.
And we've been unfolding that has gone through The Narrative of of of Abraham's life.
The gift of, of the land that has been promised.
In Abraham's faithfulness in in in placing is fade in this.
Almighty.
God.
As we consider the special status.
I mean we we think of IC.
The one will carry this Legacy and and think about Isaac.
He was the promised son.
The Chosen, son.
That that God chose to carry this blessing on.
Who's God's choice?
God's working in God's fulfillment of this and Isaac?
Is going to be carrying on this blessing.
I love is William.
Full Genesis as God, introduces himself to mankind over and over.
He, he begins to introduce himself as the god of Abraham and then we we we transitioning says, I'm the god of Abraham and Isaac.
And then I am the god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Later on.
We'll see where God Transitions and says, I am the god of Israel.
He's identifying himself with the promise and blessing that he has established and this Legacy is going to carry on and that's what we're going to be looking at today.
But as we come to this point, we we look back and at Abraham's life so far.
Remember, we looked at how Abraham has left his past?
He left his past behind to follow God.
Each one of us in here, has a path, don't we?
I have a past, you have a past.
There are things that we have had to leave behind the follow, God, and Abraham has done that.
He has demonstrated that we booked and how God trusted or Abraham trusting God with his future.
As he willingly lay down his son on the altar.
We looked last week.
I have God provided such a beautiful substitute.
And now Abraham.
Is preparing.
The pass on this Legacy.
The Isaac.
Moms dads.
Grandmas, Grandpa Aunts Uncles.
Church.
You and I have a responsibility to pass on a legacy.
You, and I should have a plan to do so Abraham needed a plan.
I appreciate what, what the writer of Proverbs says, in Proverbs, 19 verse 21.
It says many plans are in a man's heart.
But the Council of the Lord will stand church.
It's not wrong for us to plan but we have to understand that.
God's will God's council is going to be what stands his word will?
What is forever?
There's only two things that are eternal.
The soul of man and God's word.
Those things will carry on.
Abraham is going to have plans and he has learned that the Council of the Lord is what will stand remember?
He's had plans.
That weren't so good.
He's had plans where he did things his own way and we've all done that.
When God said something.
When God directed, it was God's counselors.
God's plan.
That's that.
Succeeded.
And as Abraham is preparing to to trust God in this passing on of a legacy.
He's come to a point where he understands that probably well.
As we look at the next three chapters, and we're going to look at three chapters today.
Hold on buckle up, okay.
We're going to do it over the span of two different weeks this week and next week.
As we look at this epilogue, so to speak of of Abraham's life.
As he prepares to transition, and look at the life of Isaac.
And then his sons, Jacob and Esau.
But we're looking at this were unfolding and in truth, be told in the next three chapters.
There's a lot of information information that's vital for you and I to understand and next week may sound a little more teaching and preaching go but we need to understand these things and there's valuable lessons that you and I even in a part of the scriptures can take in a fly for a life.
So I hope that you can see those things that you will take what John is showing us and revealing to us in his word and apply it to your life.
I pray that you can apply in your home.
And that we as a church, family will apply it here within our fellowship.
Joseph recently my oldest son just turned 16 years old.
In the Johnston household, that's that's that's a big deal.
Because we we understand it as as that, that point where you begin the transition from Boyhood.
The manhood.
That's how it is in our home anyway.
And is Joseph Reach This stage in his, the birthday was approaching.
I emphasize to him on that day.
The significance.
Of him burying the Johnston.
And caring that forward, what he does.
What he says how he behaved will impact that name.
