Philippians 4:13 KJV 1900
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Strength can be learned from situations and circumstances

The Philippian church was given a lesson on how to be strong in a crisis or negative situation.

Paul wrote this letter from prison. He was in a situation that could have keep him from encouraging anyone but he drew his strength from God to continue to preach the gospel. Preaching and encouraging others was his life calling.

1 Corinthians 9:16–17 KJV 1900
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
The Lexham Bible Dictionary Paul’s Ministry from Prison

In Philippians, Paul contends that his imprisonment “has really served to advance the gospel,” as it encourages other believers “to speak the word without fear” (Phil 1:12–14 ESV).

I have heard Philip 4:13 be used out of context with materialistic gain in mind, but it is about having the strength to weather the storms of life and continue standing for God in this world.

Strength is the inner resolve or the physical ability to accomplish an endeavor, influence an outcome, or prevail in a conflict. God is the main source of strength, with people being strong either for or against the Lord, his people, or his ways.

Psalm 84:5 KJV 1900
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; In whose heart are the ways of them.

Strength and Power belongeth to God

Nahum 1:3 KJV 1900
3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked: The Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of his feet.

God can do all things

Matthew 19:26 KJV 1900
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Because God can do all things He gives us the ability to live a life of Strength in all situations and circumstances

Philippians 4:13 KJV 1900
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Through Him we get the victory.

John 16:33 KJV 1900
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Victory comes from within

Ephesians 3:16 KJV 1900
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Colossians 1:11–12 KJV 1900
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

We must draw our strength from God who gives Strength to those who love Him
