Praise God for Everything! Wednesday night – 8/11/21
“And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” Matthew 21:13.
How is it that we (21st Century Christians) make God’s house a den of thieves?
If we come to God's house with any other reason than prayer first, (that is to commune with God) we are probably coming for selfish reasons (to be entertain, to feel good, for an experience, and thereby we are thieves, robbing God.
· We do it by failing to pray.
· In failing to pray we rob God of an intimate relationship with us.
o “Draw nigh unto me and I will draw neigh unto you.”
· We rob God of demonstrated faith and love.
· We rob God with our “Me First” attitude, not placing Him high and lifted up through our prayers.
We should be praising God for everything, in our prayers.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
It’s Okay for prayer to be a time of joy! It doesn’t have to be part of a disaster relief program. Our prayers should be a means of praising God.
Other countries live without clean water, we wash our cars with it every day. But when was the last time you praised God for clean water?
What can we praise GOD for tonight? (In an attitude of prayer, openly and aloud, praise God for one thing.)
