Introduction:
I want to Thank our preaching team for getting
the Go series started:
Tiffinnie Alston shared Part 1: Getting Ready to Go.
Dana Brinson shared Part 2: Go and Keep Going.
Dana Brinson shared Part 3: You’re Reay to Go.
Introduction:
As we obey Christ’s command to Go into all the world to
make disciples who make disciples, we will encounter all
the fullness of the world system, which is energized by the
flesh of mankind and the influence of the kingdom of
darkness, led by Satan and his fallen angels. But there is
another kingdom, the kingdom of God! Lead by its king,
Jesus Christ, and energized by the power of the Holy
Spirit!
Introduction:
Some people go through their daily life “running on
empty”.
But there is a better way to live daily life,
I call it running on full.
Big Idea:
Jesus lived in the fullness of the Spirit.
As we go living our daily lives, we can live (run) like
Jesus by living in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
1. Jesus embodies the fullness of God.
Colossians 2:9 NIV
For in Christ all the fullness of
the Deity lives in bodily form,
2. We have the fullness of Christ
with power and authority.
Colossians 2:10 NIV
and you have been given fullness in Christ,
who is the head over every power and authority.
3. We have a spirit of power, love,
and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7 NIV
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity,
but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
4. Depend on the Holy Spirit
not your flesh.
John 3:6 NIV
Flesh gives birth to flesh,
but the Spirit gives birth to spirit
4. Depend on the Holy Spirit
not our flesh. Cont.
Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the
Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words
cannot express. And he who searches our hearts
knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit
intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
.
5. Going in fullness brings joy even in
challenging situations.
Acts 13:44-52 NIV
44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered
to hear the word of the Lord. 45 When the Jews saw the
crowds, they were filled with jealousy and talked
abusively against what Paul was saying
5. Going in fullness brings joy even in
challenging situations.
Acts 13:44-52 NIV
46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We
had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you
reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of
eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. 47 For this is
what the Lord has commanded us: “ ‘I have made you a
light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the
ends of the earth.’”
5. Going in fullness brings joy even in
challenging situations.
Acts 13:44-52 NIV
48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and
honored the word of the Lord; and all who were
appointed for eternal life believed. 49 The word of the
Lord spread through the whole region.
5. Going in fullness brings joy even in
challenging situations.
Acts 13:44-52 NIV
50 But the Jews incited the God-fearing women of high
standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up
persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled
them from their region. 51 So they shook the dust from
their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium.
52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the
Holy Spirit.
Summary:
