Your Body is the Sanctuary of God.

Anyone like Legos? Building with Legos? What do you like to build?
Do you ever find a place of peace, rest, and comfort? Do you have a moment in life when you are totally released and “at home?”
Sanctuary = A place where people come to worship (though perhaps not enter). It was often where people believed a deity lived or visited with its presence.
2 Corinthians 6:16–18 KJV 1900
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Temple (12 Cor 6) = used specifically of the Holy place, where the priests officiated: Lk. 1:9, 21 sq.; of the Holy of holies
Thayer, J. H. (1889). A Greek-English lexicon of the New Testament: being Grimm’s Wilke's Clavis Novi Testamenti (p. 422). New York: Harper & Brothers.
Not the Same place as the building on the temple mount.
Temple (= designates the whole compass of the sacred enclosure, embracing the entire aggregate of buildings, balconies, porticos, courts (viz. that of the men or Israelites, that of the women, that of the priests), belonging to the temple;

EXAMPLE: First “Temple” here is the building and general area of the Temple. The second time is the word for the innermost place, the holy of holies, the SANCTUARY.
John 2:13–22 KJV 1900
And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Your Body is the Sanctuary of God.

Where did God live before He lived in people?
The Garden of Eden was a Sanctuary for God.
Heaven is a Sanctuary for God. “Heaven is my throne, earth my footstool.”
The Tabernacle /Temple at specific times were the Sanctuary of God.

In the final state there is properly “no sanctuary” (Rev. 21:22), for God and the Lamb “are the sanctuary” (R.V., “temple”). All is there hallowed by the Divine Presence; all is sanctuary.

God lives in Christians and one day, Christians will live in God - in Heaven.
