Mark 3:22-30

Theme: The Servant’s Deity
Key verse: v.7
35 verses; 663 words
Grade level: 4.7
1. His Work. vs.1-12
2. His Workers. vs.13-21
3. His Warning. vs.22-30
4. His Whosoevers. vs.31-35
In this passage of Scripture we find EXPRESSIONS in a conversation between Jesus Christ and the lost religious leaders.

I. The Accusation. v.22

22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
“They were saying that Jesus was an incarnation of evil, of the devil himself.” (POSB KJV Mk):
Their city.
Their chief. (Ephesians 2:2-3)
Their condemnation. (John 8:44)

II. The Explanation. vs.23-27

Listen to these five examples:
The logical example. v.23
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
The royal example. v.24
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
The social example. v.25
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
The spiritual example. v.26
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
The criminal example. v.27
27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

III. The Clarification. vs.28-30

The sins that He referred to. v.28
The forgivable sins. v.28
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
John 16:13–14
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
If the Holy Spirit is NOT TO SPEAK OF HIMSELF, then the main purpose of His mission would be to present Christ, and that is exactly what the Savior predicted.
The unforgivable. v.29
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
“Unfortunately, men and women, lacking adequate understanding of the Scriptures assumed responsibility for committing this unpardonable sin, and later, became inmates of mental institutions.” (Ivor Powell)
(POSB KJV Mk): The unforgivable sin is committed by the man who continues and continues …
to reject the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
to blind himself to the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
to willfully sin despite conviction by the Holy Spirit.
to insist on his own way.
to oppose the work of the Holy Spirit.
to justify himself in his sinful behavior.
John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Hebrews 3:13
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
The sinners that He referred to. v.30
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
Conclusion:
Are you going to heed the warning of Jesus Christ?
