I Shall Not Lack- Want, Fail, Need
Psalm 23:1 (NIV) 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
Psalm 23:1 (NKJV) 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Dict- the state of being without or not having enough of something.
Lack, Want, Need, Fail- Neither of these were Davids destination
We can be travelling through these things but they are not our destination.
Not Won’t Lack What??
Psalms 34:8-10 NKJV
8“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”
“Not Lack Any Good Thing”
Good- Benefit, happiness, prosperity,favour, joyful, Morally good.
Why Am I Not Experiencing The Above?
Im Unhappy, Depressed, Anxious, Poor, Sad, Hopelessness
Conditions-
1)Trusts- Takes Refuge, Flee for protection, Goes to God as their place of safety in a storm
Illustration- Hiding in a bomb shelter, When in danger you go to the saftey of Gods protection. Not running around in panic and indecision
When your challenges are overwhelming where to you go?
How do you escape?
2)Fear God- hold God in reverance or something else?
Your bank account, Your pet theory on end time, Fearing the future?
Seek- search, findout, inquire, pursue, learn information not already known
Seeking The Lord
Pursueing God with the intention of learning new and unknown information.
Preset agenda- God I want or need.
Realising Something Is Wrong-
Is it me, my understanding, my actions that require change.
Lacking Wisdom
James 1:5-8 NKJV
5“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Wisdom- capacity to understand, insight, see clearly
Liberally - bountifully, generously
Lacking Wisdom But Not Knowing It- Ignorant
Ignorant- If you describe someone as ignorant, you mean that they do not know things they should know. If someone is ignorant of a fact, they do not know it.
Wisdom Is Not Static- Understanding Grows, The longer you know God the more understanding you should gain.
“The more I know God the more I realise the less I know”
