2 Corinthians 1:20 KJV 1900
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Does God promise peace for us? Yes, He does.
Scriptural Evidence of God’s Promise of Peace - Psalm 29:11
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
· “thoughts of peace, and not of evil…” that’s the heart of God towards you.
· How often have accused God of being against us? It can be difficult at times to discern between God’s hand of punishment and His hand of chastening.
· The hand of chastening will come with reproof, and correction, and instruction.
· God’s punishment comes with a cost, usually a high cost. (Life, freedom)
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Isaiah 26:3 KJV 1900
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.
· Peace of mind. If you are truly trusting in God, you should be found living in a state of peace.
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 KJV 1900
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
· Peace of life in general. In Christ, we can have peace during the most trying times of our life.
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1–2 KJV 1900
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
· We’ve been granted justification through the shed blood of the Only Begotten Son of God, and in Him we have the righteousness of God rather than the wrath of God. That should bring anyone peace. It’s all through faith in Jesus as the Christ.
o But none of that happen unless we first believe in Him whom God sent to die for us.
Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Ephesians 2:14 KJV 1900
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
· “He is our peace” and without Him there can be no peace.
o The flesh and the spirit are contrary one to the other, and the spirit cries out to seek unto Him who gave it, but the voice of the flesh drowns it out. That brings an internal turmoil, even if it is not recognize right away, (youth versus old age).
Can we have peace? Can we live a life of peace? Yes, but only through Jesus Christ. Christ in us, the hope of Glory.
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. Amen. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
2 Thessalonians 3:16 KJV 1900
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
