Seeing it Through

Hopefully when you start or are building something you thought it through
You have an end in mind and a way to get there
Italy - unfinished buildings - avoid taxes - looked like no one thought it through
Last few weeks - talked about building families, building facilities
What about the future - what about those that will come
What about this next generation;
Atheism has doubled in the new generation
1/3 believe it is not possible to know God is real
When God looked at us - He had a plan in mind to finish what He started
It is a promise
Philippians 1:6 CSB
I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
As God finishes with us - what will we leave for those who come next
That’s what I want to talk about today - Building a legacy.
What will we pass on to build families and reach our community
I think there are 4 things we must do if we are going to reach our community
Let’s pray
1. We must see it, it takes faith
Faith is key
Hebrews 11:1 CSB
Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.
When our lives are based in faith in God and His promises, and we live that way
We see things as God sees them
That’s why Jesus said
John 4:35 CSB
“Don’t you say, ‘There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest’? Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest.
Look around
Yes culture is going crazy - everything is in flux
Political views, Societal views, Cultural views - all are changing
God’s grace , word and truth - only thing constant
The world does not need another opinion or program - it needs the Gospel
When you see what God sees.....
2. You must choose it, it takes sacrifice
1 Corinthians 15:58 CSB
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
When we see as God sees - the need for hope, grace
How can we not sacrifice whatever it takes
No sacrifice should be too great for Him who gave Himself for us. - Harry Ironside
How much was given for us? -
When we realize all that has been given to us - our only response is...
3. You must give it, it takes generosity
2 Corinthians 9:11 CSB
You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.
We have talked that everything is His - we have been blessed so much - given so much
The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation. - Corrie Ten Boom
This is everything in our life - time, talents, AND TREASURE
Generosity is modeled by God
Generosity begins with after what is required
Everyhting God created is giving - sun - earth - plants - even us
We are just the most reluctant
What else will you give to - that has an eternal return?
Finally..
4. It starts today, it takes urgency
We have talked about the next generation
We see what is happening in our communities
This is something we cannot push off on to someone else
“Every saved person this side of heaven owes the gospel to every lost person this side of hell.” ― David Platt,

Building a Legacy

What you do is your history. What you set in motion is your legacy. - Leonard Sweet
Today we come together to commit to the future -
Future families entering our doors
Future generations that will learn and fall in,love with Jesus
Future Pastors, Missionaries, Fathers, Mothers
Our family believes there is no better investment and no greater cause - the cause of families and His Kingdom
We choose to invest - even if it doesn’t make sense at times
We recognize all that has been given to us
Today we ask you as we finish the messages but truly begin to Build ...
Will you commit to build families, facilities, and a future
We ask you pray , and when ready to drop your commitment card in the Lego box
Together, though God’s grace and leading - we will see families restored and strengthened, and God‘s kingdom grow in out community
Let’s Pray
