Jesus love is the Standard

He accepts Before we are acceptable

Note: Jesus says this /before/ the cross!

Jesus loved the disciples from day 1!

So how does Jesus love?

He loves /before/ they understood Him

/While we were yet sinners . .

He calls us as we are

Fishermen, tax collectors, zealots

Impulsive, power-hungry, skeptical

/Come, follow me/

His love is Self - Denying
           1.
He comes to serve (John 13:1,ff)

He teaches, heals, delivers

He washes the disciples feet!

Love focuses on serving (not being served)

He is very, very patient with the disciples

Their faith is small and fragile

The never really understand Him

They’re always saying something dumb

He will lay down His life for them

For this band of fickle followers

And all who follow after them

That’s how we’re supposed to love.
