Romans 5—The Results of Justification by Faith

Romans 5 as the title says Paul starts off on the results of such a justification and the biggest result is the fact that God’s people and mankind, if they choose to accept it have now acquired peace with God in other words God’s creation through the Messiah Jesus Christ have now reach Reconciliation with their creator. Paul once again reminds his audience that Jesus is the introduction into the Grace/ Favor of God, he introduced not only a new and better way to reconcile with God away from the Law that condemns by showing mankind that they are sinners and unworthy. Jesus introduces mankind to the love that only God can give and that by placing faith in the only mediator and bridge; Jesus Christ righteousness is imputed onto them. Stating that they rejoice in the hope of the glory of God whom all signs in Romans point to and in Colossians 1:27 says it directly Jesus ” 27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory“.-Colossians 1:27 NASB, not only rejoicing in that but also during tribulation because during times of suffering the fruits of the spirit are brought forth, perseverance/endurance, endurance produces character and character produces hope. “5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.”-Romans 5:5-6 NASB as Rom 5:5 says hope does not disappoint whether you take as literal or figurative, Hope meaning THE HOPE OF GLORY; JESUS or having the feeling of hope towards God’s promises; neither will disappoint Jesus will not disappoint nor will God’s promises [added commentary on my part the word poured used ἐκχέω(ekcheō) mean pour out; shed(blood)] Jesus blood was shed for us while we were helpless and unworthy and having hope on the promises of a(the one and only) God that loved his creation so much he sent his only son to die for us and being that he is a triune God he dwelt among his creation and died for his creation shows that Hope does not disappoint“ 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”-Romans 5:8 NASB. God demonstrating his love for his creation while they had and were sinning against him how much more would it be having now been justified by the imputed righteousness of Jesus for his creation to be saved by the shedding of his blood. Paul not only reminds us but tells us to not only rejoice in Jesus, during tribulation, for God’s love and our salvation but to also rejoice in the fact that creation Through Jesus have now and can reconcile with God.” 11 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—13 for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.” -Romans 5:11–15 NASB. in Rom 5:15 Paul lets us see the good news for what it is a Free gift from God by the grace of Jesus Christ for the many, if there is one thing to take from Romans 5 is that statement; A FREE GIFT BY THE GRACE OF JESUS FOR THE MANY, that’s the kind of Salvation and good news is. Paul once again circles back and compares it to the transgression of Adam which brought about condemnation, wrath of God and death and Jesus’ act of righteousness; a Gift that resulted in Justification, Salvation and Eternal Life. “21 so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”-Romans 5:21 NASB.
