Zechariahs Visions
His 1st vision is God’s great love for Jerusalem and its people
next vision is of the 4 horns/ world empires who are oppressing the People
with the 4 Horns will be the 4 De-horners
with the last craftsman who is the stone
the stone that the builders rejected
the stone that crushed
the stone that is the cornerstone
the stone that pulverizes the empires/ nations
turns them into chaff
this stone is none other than the Rock of our Salvation

the third vision is on that same night
a reminder that these visions are for Jerusalem and the Israelite people
some want to spirtualize these and make them for the Church
the Church can learn much from these prophecies, they are for the Israelites and for Jerusalem
the third vision
again it says, “I looked up”
and this time he saw a surveyor
we need to Identify these characters in this vision
the man here/ the surveyor
some say this is Jesus because in other verses in Zechariah He is portrayed as a man
but I think it is just a Surveyor
and what is he doing?
trying to keep up with the growing Jerusalem
2 angels 1 is the interpreting angel
the other angel I think is Jesus
because of the message
I will be a wall
I will be the glory in its midst
then we have the young man = Zechariah
The Message
Jerusalem will be inhabited in safety and peace
I will be a wall of fire around it
Has anything like this ever happened to Jerusalem?
no walls
living in peace
with the Glory of God in its midst / When Jesus was there
but they rejected and killed Him
Has this ever happened to Israel?
at the time of the Exodus
the pillar of fire and God on the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies
another time in the future that jerusalem will be protected by fire
Zechariah was told that Jerusalem would be as towns without walls
small towns were not protected by walls, they would go to the fortified cities for protection
So Come Home
you have your chance leave Babylon
yes it’s comfortable there
yes it’s where you have your life
yes it’s now your home
there is nothing but promises back here in the promised land
these comforts you are now experiencing are but a fleeting moment
God is going to judge these nations
because they have caused you pain
they are touching the apple of My eye
the pupil the most sensitive part of the body
if you get a piece of dust in your eye you know it
God is so sensitive to the Jewish people that He is in pain when they are mistreated
lets park right here for now
This is going to hurt me a lot more than it’s going to hurt you
lets look a Saul on the road to Damascus
Saul was torturing people, putting them in jail
having them killed
what does Jesus say?
I think the same thing God said in Zechariah
you are the apple of my eye, when they touch you, they are touching my eye
Saul why are you poking that stick into my eye
why are you causing me pain
you are hurting my beloved bride, thus you are hurting me
God is not an impersonal being out of touch with reality
if God is hurt by the Israelites and the Church being persecuted
how much is God hurt by His people sinning against Him
His church refusing to obey
His church refusing to spend time with Him
The father of the prodigal son looked longingly for his return
The Holy Spirit is grieved by our actions and attitudes
do we not remember how we hurt, or do we just do not care.
Justice
God is a Just God all wrongs will dealt with perfect justice
all wrong doings to us by someone else will be perfectly punished, not to much not to little
some people have been abused, beaten,raped, killed
but god in His perfect justice will punish
and perfect punishment is not a slap on the wrist
a restraining order, or I will let you go if you promise
God says perfect justice, perfect punishment, He will give
The Father put upon the Son our punishment
God’s perfect justice , His perfect punishment
Jesus took in our place
God is going to cause the empires that abused the Jews to be brought down
a shaking came to Babylon and was brought to nothing
God wants the people to come home before that happens
The Millennial Kingdom
Now God is giving Zechariah a glimpse of the far future
Going into the millennial Kingdom
Jesus will be on the throne
He would have crushed all of the armies of the world
He would have put Satan in the abyss for the thousand years
