I. Introduction
Scripture: John 14:1–6 (NASB95)
Context: Jesus predicts his betrayal and departure…(John 13:21-38)
II.
Jesus gives a command...
1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
Do not be troubled
God and Jesus are one.
(easy for Jews to believe in God)
III.
Jesus give us confidence...
A promised place (Heaven)
2 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists.
A baby feels hunger: well, there is such a thing as food.
A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water.
If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.
If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not prove that the universe is a fraud.
Probably earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing.
- CS Lewis (Mere Christianity)
A promised return (Jesus will come back and be with us)
3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
Why is heaven so great?
because, Jesus is there.
(Heaven is heaven because Jesus is there)
“Our view of heaven reflects our view of Jesus”
“The more you love for jesus Christ grows, the more our appetite for heaven grows.
Scripture...

3. Peter
IV. Conclusion: Jesus is the way...
4 “And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”
How do i get there?
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
The Way - He is how
