Heather to glorify your name to bless you. Lord, God to honor you and worship and song and dancing and praise.

Shabbat shalom, family.

All right.

We are in Leviticus 11. Leviticus 11 this morning.

and,

God is good.

Good, all the time.

And our story or are looking back is about food. I want to give a little bit of History first. In Genesis chapter 1. God spoke and the oceans were created and that was the fifth day and God saw that it was good. And then in verse 25 of Genesis chapter 1, he created the land, he spoke and the land and the animals and all of that was created. And God said it was good. Then he created Adam and Eve. Unfortunately, there was a fall. Fall Foods.

As we go along. God reaches into Noah's heart and says, build an ark. Cuz God's really unhappy and it's going to rain first time. And onto the ark. He took clean and unclean animals aboard the ark along with all. Of his family and it rained. I'm here. We are at chapter 11. Talking about what is clean and unclean food. Restrictions. Lot of us don't like rules and restrictions at times, but there's a reason because God is good and he's protecting us and he was protecting it was real.

When do all plants and animals are not good to eat even today? We know this. No one's going to eat poison ivy. Let alone what it does to your skin. All right. A God fed them in the desert. He said the man angel food. It was good. So I start off in chapter 11 and at this point, God is speaking, not only to Moses, but he's speaking to Aaron and he says, tell is real. These are the animals of the earth that you may eat that are clean and unclean. And he gives examples. I'm going to start off with land animals and then want to go to talk about first is the camel. Now, the camel, chews, his cud choosing, you know.

And but they were an unclean animal because of their Hooves because the animals that had to have a divided, okay? and so, He, he knew what he was doing. God knew what he was doing. But man, that doesn't always listen to God. They also was a rock, hydrex and I looked that up in my dictionary and it was called a rock hair. So the rabbit. So we've seen rabbits chew. They look really funny when they chew and Swine which is commonly called the pig. God didn't even want you to touch their carcass or anything. It was unclean. No, And in the water, you wanted the fish to have scales and fins. And after that he goes so far to say the word Abomination. So apparently there was a lot of things you didn't want you eating because it would be an abomination. In the air, he did not want us eating Eagles vultures. Buzzards, kites, Falcons Ravens house, ostriches Eagles and Hawks don't need any of those things. Okay. He went so far as in the land lizards might snakes all are unclean and gave instructions on how to purify the body after this cuz you were unclean till evening. So why all these restrictions? We even have restrictions in our life, but Israel had in restrictions because where had they been living? All these years in Israel? Had been living. In Egypt. Jacob had been living in Egypt for 430 years. There they worshipped lizards. They worship all kind of things. The guy doesn't want you worshiping food. God Wants You worshiping him. And that's what he had selected. These people a long time ago, and he wanted them to be holy because God is Holy, and they were holy. Now, in my studies, I ran across the book that I bought a long time ago. Foods of the Bible. Okay. Hindsight, they they had lambs and all kind of things like that. But, you know, They didn't have McDonald's, you know, they didn't have the place to take and go down and get your packs ice and put it in your cooler. They were camping. And so prep servation of food was with salt, remember in our, when they sacrifice animals salt is used in that area. So, you know, David I'm going to jump a little bit of head and I'm going to jump into when David now. David was what? When do the children know that Dave, what David did before he became king? Okay. Yes, he was a Shepherd. Yes. He was a shepherd and he was a mighty Shepherd. Wasn't it? Cuz he killed a lion. What else did he kill? Yeah, what other animal? Yeah, that's it. He killed the bear. A shepherd's had a hard life. And before I go into one of our other verses that I got into, I wanted to take in a few days. It's going to be Christmas. And we know where Jesus was born. The Shepherds were in Bethlehem responsible for delivery healthy and unblemished sheep to offer at the altar of the sacrifice for the atonement of sin.

Staying out in the fields, and keeping watch over their flock By Night. Very, very famous. Because who appears why they are out there. Yes. Asher Angels, told him not to be afraid. The life of a Shepherd was a loneliness, labor, dangerous poverty, and hardship may not have been the greatest of their difficulties because of their profession Shepherds were considered ceremonially unclean.

Think about that the lamps that are used in the temple were ceremonially on making the shepherd's ceremonially unclean. Their work among things required, their hands on participation in birthing the Lambs, which would bring them into contact with blood. Disposing of the David Lambs with if one died. Unfortunately. They had to dispose of the Lamb, which made them ceremonially. Unclean.

This was really hard on them, this resulted in them being Outcast. It seems so sad. The very individual who were responsible for raising sacrificial Lambs for the temple in Jerusalem themselves were excluded from the temple because they were considered ceremonially unclean but these fake Shepherds face the twofold Dilemma for not only were they made unclean by nature of their work. They also be required to stay constantly with the flocks. This meant that they were unable to leave their tasks for weeks at a time preventing them from going to the temple so that they could be cleansed. It was a religious catch-22.

Very hard for them. David was a shepherd. Jesus raised him up.

and he, What's up, the bloodline? When Jesus was born? They went to the city of David here. We are few days before Christmas. Now, in our lessons, we jumped into Peter. In Acts in the annex there. He was, Peter was in Joppa and he was some men were sent to him from the house of Cornelius. No, Jewish person was supposed to step into a Roman house. Anywhere. They would become unclean, but here's the wonderful thing. This story happens. After the Holy Spirit has come and blessed the Earth with a new way. God's amazing plan that was given to us through the Holy Spirit was just a wonderful thing for Cornelius, family because many were baptized and many were saved this sore in a few days. We're going to have Christmas. Food. Yeah, I started talking about food and restrictions. We all have fond memories of many diet, you know, of foods that we like, but unfortunately, nowadays some of us can't eat some of those Foods anymore. Yeah, it's it. It's the kind of a sad but there's good news. I have good news. We have no restriction of spiritual food. God's word and teachings, we can have S. We can have midnight comfort food. It is so wonderful. I asked you. What are you eating or are you what you are eating some 34 states? In verse 7, the angel of the Lord in camps around those who fear Him and deliver them? Oh taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who trusts in him? So, eat a cookie and trusting God, okay. Merry Christmas, Jesus is coming. Hallelujah.
