Genesis 1:1
Introduction
The book of Genesis is the book of beginnings, it describes where we came from, it declares what is wrong with us, it discloses where we are going
It lays the foundations of human institutions
Now unlike any other time in our lifetimes we must unapologetically proclaim what God unilaterally declares
The world has rejected the Creator rather
Romans 1:18–25 (KJV 1900) — 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.
Amen.
The Bible declares that you are to Worship Christ as The Creator
I.
The Creator’s Identity
Who is the Creator?
The deist of the 17th century postulated the God was no more than a Great Clock winder have created the world and then leaving it alone to its own devices
The Bible is very emphatic concerning the the identity of the Creator.
In the beginning was the Word
Jesus is the Word
“All things were made by him”
everything that is, is made by Him
“In him was life and light”
Jesus owns the title deed to all the Universe both as Creator and Redeemer
It all belongs to Him
Whether it is in Heaven or Earth it is His
Whether it is visible or invisible it is His
IT IS ALL HIS
It is the reprobate mind that rejects the identity of the creator
Man’s objection to the God of the Bible is not scientific it is sinful
II.
The Creator’s Initiative
The Creation is not the product of a random cosmic accident but the result of an intentional divine action
"so called” science attempts to explain our origin by a random bang and that you are the product of millions of years of random mutations yet such a proposition demands you place your faith in chaos instead of a creator
By His Will
God “created”
While men have the ability to “make or form” only God can create out of nothing.
Jesus by His own initiative made a conscience decision to create the creation
You are not an accident but you are “fearfully and wonderfully made”
By His Word
There is power in His Word
God exercised His will by the speaking of His word
III.
The Creator’s Imagination
Christ is designer
The universe of matter is fashioned by His design
The institutions of man are also fashioned by His design
IV.
The Creator’s Intention
He made it for His pleasure
He made it for His praise
He made it for His people
Conclusion Statement
Colossians 3:10 (KJV 1900) — 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Worship Christ by recognizing Him as your Creator.
