This message is for anyone who may have lost their Passion.
Maybe you don’t understand you have been Marked for Purpose. | Do you feel flat? | Feel like you had passion, but now gone?
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

How to get your passion back
Why you might have lost it
I want to look at Davids pupose, how he fulfilled his purpose, his passion, how he lost it and how that applies to us today.

If you are not fulfilling the purpose of something, you are abusing it, violating it. Maybe you are not fulfilling the purpose that you were created for
For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption,
1st point: Purpose isn’t for you. Your purpose is God’s Purpose. David understands this.
While Running from Saul, Hiding in a cave - He says this;
I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
Purpose = Original Intent
Sin = Hamartano = Missing the Target = Missing the Purpose = Abuse and violation of our purpose + we fall into Sin because we long for validation outside of God.
Looking for “our” Purpose instead of realising that we are instruments of God’s Pupose.
We exist to serve God’s purpose
We do ‘us’ because we don’t understand that we have a purpose. We have been Created FOR Heavan, but we live for THIS world.
Searching this world for something this world can not provide. Your purpose is for God’s Glory.
Let’s look at David. When Samuel came looking ,he wasn’t pursuin HIS dreams, or HIS Bucket list - Faithfully Serving;
He chose David his servant
and took him from the sheepfolds;
from following the nursing ewes he brought him
to shepherd Jacob his people,
Israel his inheritance.
He was faithfully serving, and God’s Purpose Found Him.
When he was asked to fight Goliath;
He wasn’t seeking a position, he was serving a purpose.- who was David when he was chosen, he was bringing lunch to the warriors on the front line. He wasn’t waiting for his big break, he was serving.
IF you want to serve God’s Purpose, Serve God’s People - David knew who he was
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
First thing you need to do to get passion back: Know you have been MARKED for HIS purpose and for HIS Glory
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

So, if you have been marked, you have been placed where you are for HIM if your WHY is right - IF your motivation is right. That’s something to get excited about.
2 types of people;
Those that let their circumstances effect their passion
Those that are passionate in every circumanstance
You know the ones;

Enthusiasm, greek word; En Theos = In GOD | Filled with God
Passion is not something you work up, it’s something that is BRED FROM GOD. It’s something that is provided from God.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Last week = What ever you DO! Not WHAT you do but WHO you do it for.

David - As a young Shepard Boy He was filled With Confidence, check this;

Look at his confidence - This is not from HIM, it’s RAW, born from God - how?

Worshipped God DAILY
Key word? Daily.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.

He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
But David went through 2 seasons - He Had it, and he lost it.
This king, on fire for the Lord, what happened?
In a time, when Kings were meant to go to WAR, he chose to stay home - Because of this disobedience, he found himself in a place he shouldn’t of been, looking at something he shouldn’t of been looking at and he did something that he never should have done.
In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they ravaged the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.
He was meant to be in battle | Found himself on Rooftop - Looking at bathing woman | Her husband was at the war David should of been at | Slept with her, got her pregnant | When david sent for the man, he tried to cover His sin by getting the husband to sleep with wife, he was too righteous | David gave a letter to this man, to give to Joab the captain of army, to have him killed |
Committed Adultury - Murder - Displeased the Lord all mighty
Davids Adultary all started when he stopped spending time with God
David started serving HIS purpose and Not God’s Purpose
As a kid with enthusiasm; Ran into the battle to serve His God | With Apathy, on a rooftop walked into Sin to serve His Comfort
How did a man, so on fire for God, lose it? Lose his EN THEOS?
He took his eyes OFF calling and put them ON comfort.
Which one best represents you?

You have a Purpose, a Calling, you have been Marked, where is your EN THEOS? You have a GOD that is FOR YOU.
We drift, we drift toward apathy every day, why? Because we have a real enemy. We have real pulls of this world. There is a deep passionate calling in you, that has somewhere along the line been substituted for comfort.
Which one are you?
David had it, then lost it, then Nathan confronted him - and he realises what has happened.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Remember your first love?
But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
Who are you going to be? you have an INTENDED PURPOSE from GOD - 2 Types of people, people that know this, get their EN THEOS from GOD - and people that don’t. Let their circumstances define where they are.
This year - to find your purpose, to find your why, get closer to God
I get under pressure all the time - all the time - What do I do?
I think about what God has done for me, I think about the moment of the car, I think about setting up that one chair.
I spend time with him - I let his word strengthen my soul, and I worship Him. Not for what I see, but for who he is.
I think about the promises he has made me.

What does your life look like with a bit more EN THEOS?
What do you need to tell yourself? What do you need to pray about? Where are your doubts?
Know that you have been Called, placed, loved, forgiven and SET FREE

The light that is in me, that no dark can put it out and I am thankful, we have a church, with people that have lights so bright - that will go out into a dark world.
We have lights so bright that when we go out there, we will LIGHT IT UP. We have a church family that have a Purpose to fulfill. We will do anything SHORT OF SIN to bring people to CHRIST. We are Spiritual Contributors, not Spiritual Consumers, this life is not our own, we will Serve God’s Service becasue HE IS WORTHY.
GOD is WORTHY OF IT ALL - YOUR WHOLE HEART - YOUR WHOLE LIFE - YOU ARE AN INSTRUMENT, DO YOU WANT TO BE USED?
