Let’s Pray
I first of all want to remind you of the sound of hte heartbeat of God. (Redeem, Paduth, Lutrow). God can and will use all of our brokeness to bring about a blessed redemption. Our God is in the heavens and He does all that He pleases.
I will move in and out of preaching and teaching today. I will be moving in and out of “Thus saith the Lord” and then simply trying to give commentary about the current events of our society. Kind of like one foot in the text and one foot in the world.

THE OVERALL AIM this morning to state plainly the truth of God’s word as it relates to us as made in His image as males and females.
We can’t re-define reality and make it all about us. The universe doesn’t revolve around you or your impulses or your feelings . It revolves around the One who spoke it into existence. There are things that are known as facts. There is truth…not just presuppositions based on myths, but principled actual eternal realities. These exist because God exists and He spoke them into being. We read about it in Genesis and then we see “the way, the truth, and the life” walking around on the planet 2000 years ago teaching and testifying about that which is true. He was the Living Word of God dwelling among us…we must listen to Him because

8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
So, that is the overall aim today. To answer Pontus Pilates question, “What is truth.” Well God will tell us today.

Eliminate the stigma that exists in the church that those struggling with or totally embracing same sex attraction or gender dysphoria are beyond redemption.
Get the plank out of our own eyes.
Identify our current cultural climate and warn of what seems to be an inevitable reality for those that cling to a biblical ethic of human sexuality.

The first thing God laid on my heart to say to everyone today is this: “God can use any of our intentional evil for good.” Our God spared no cost whatsoever in order to bring about redemption.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
This week we once again want to take time to anchor ourselves to the truth of God’s Word, so that we are not pulled out to a stormy sea by a cultural rip tide. The thinking of modern humans as degraded God’s design for human flourishing and traded it away for life apart for the Author of life and have chosen to trample His revealed truth under their collective feet. Today we want to tune our ears to hear His truth. We want to tether ourselves to what He has revealed, so that we are not swept away to an inevitable swirl of destruction. Today we want to do what Abraham Lincoln had once said,
Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.

There is no other righter place in all of the universe than right here in the contents of this living and active book.
Today God is going to remind us of the unalterable truth that

Now…today, God will speak authoritatively, but not in an insensitive way. Some of you have past mistakes that are clouding your mind right now. Some of you have current dilemmas that you are facing that has made the wheels of your mind spin out of control and you are mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted.Some of you feel dirty, or guilty or full of shame. Some of you might feel unknown, isolated and lonely. Some of you might have a skeleton in your closet that you hope never sees the light of day. Some of you might feel like you are trapped in the wrong type of body and you are wrestling with your feelings and your physical reality and bombarded by the rip tide of cultural influences and you want it all to stop.
God will speak today, but He will not speak in an insensitive way. He knows your frame and that you are but dust. What all of us need to hear today before we go any further is what God has said of Himself.
God is the God of all grace. God is the God of all comfort and mercy. God is the God of all mercy. He is rich in all of those wonderful qualities. And He is also extremely benevolent. He is not hoarding it up for Himself…He wants to lavish you with them.
So today if you feel a weight of condemnation bearing heavy on your soul, realize that it is a burden that God is allow you to feel so that you will recognizes it’s cumbersomeness to your soul and you will do the sensible thing of asking God to release you from it. The weight will be from Him, not me. So if you feel the weight, take it up with Him. Acknowledge to Him how your soul is feeling and remember that He is a God who has gone on record and has said of Himself,

Moses’s response to such revelation was to bow and worship. You can do the same and find freedom for your soul.
Do not try to take matters into your own hand and redefine what it means to have life and to experience it in abundance. The abundant life is only found in Jesus Christ and following Him in His ways.

Address Heterosexual sin first (THis sermon is not preached in an attempt to make those who have no “sexual sin” feel more comfortavle. the reason i say that is becaus we all to some degree struggle with sexual disfunction. (1 COr. 6, matt. 5, ) problem as old as time (Job. 31:1)
We are living in days that are very confused. We are living in a point in history where the phrase, “I am a woman trapped in a man’s body” is socially, civilaly and morally not only acceptable, but must be affirmed and celebrated by all. If you are opposed to such thinking you are bigoted and guilty of ontribuiting to societal predjudices based off of myths and you don’t find yourself at the 20th anniverery cast renunion of hte Harry Potter movies even though you are the creator of the entire Harry Potter Universe.
Some of you might not know what I am talking about or why I am talking about it. So here is a little background.
Last fall I came across some articles in my daily reading that seemed alarming at best and threatening in the worse.
What I was reading about was a legislative ban being drafted and proposed in Canada that would criminalize any attempt to promote or practice any type what is called “conversion therapy.”
Conversion therapy, has also been termed “reparative therapy.” What this is utilizing therapeutic methodologies that are intended to change someone's sexual orientation, sexual impulses or gender identity.
Now some forms of conversion therapy conducted on minors has been harmful and abusive and we as Christians are opposed to such “so-called therapy” that is concerned more with changing who a teen is sexually attracted to than with teaching them to live faithfully for Christ regardless of their attractions. We should also be opposed to the numerous harmful and abusive “treatments” for gender dysphoria, such as destroying sexual function of various sex organs or surgically removing genitals or breasts. We reject and denounce such practices as Paul did when He warned the Colossians of the destructive and dangerous ideaologies that were culturally acceptable back in the 1st century. He writes...
23 These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.
So we reject any man made, coercive, abusive, civilized version of waterboarding…that won’t do any good, but a biblical sexual ethic doesn’t throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater.
The bible clearly teaches that God created humans as either males or females and that they are equally God’s image bearing creatures. The two genders are complementary in nature and have been uniquely, intentinoally designed by God to enrich His creation through marriage, procreation, family life and as functioning members of societies. This is the biblial sexual ethic.
However, the wording in this bill is such that it’s referring to much more than just the bad and abusive side of conversion therapy. It’s really any kind of biblical counseling, preaching, and teaching on God’s design for man and woman to be together and only two genders. This legislative ban as proposed, if passed would be and overpowered freight train barreling straight toward God’s revealed design and purposes in human sexuality. If passed, there would be an inevitable, eventual collision with Biblical Christiantiy and the freedom of pastors in the pulpit to preach repentance in the name of Jesus. This bill if passed would even go so far as criminilize the act of parents having private discussions with their own kids in attempts to show how God has designed humankind as male and female.
It seemed so agressive, even for Canada, that I remember talking to my wife last fall about it and we both thought… “Ya, well that will never pass.”
Well, not only did it pass, but it passed unanimosly without any voice of decent from any member of even the “conservative party.”
This legislature officaially went in to law on January 7th. Just a measly 4.7 miles away from the front door of this building.
Listen to the text of this law: Conversion therapy, as it is called, is wrong because it is
"based on and propagates myths and stereotypes about sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression, including the myth that heterosexuality, cisgender gender identity, and gender expression that conforms to the sex assigned to a person at birth are to be preferred over other sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions."
Did you see those words? myths, stereotypes, sex that is assigned instead of “clearly recognizable, preferred over other sexual orientations, identities, and expressions.
This is in direct defiance to God who created the two sexes (male and female) to complement each other and to reveal different aspects of His glory.
But this law is clearly stating that one’s sexual identity is socially constructed and independent of one’s biological features. All that matters is that you as an individual get to express who you feel you are.
And if anyone. any pastor, parent, or therapist attempts or even attempts to promote a different narraitve…they will be considered criminals. Deviants from the legislative norms of society. Criminals and deviants are to be disciplined and punished. And the coercive power of the Canadian government has decided that the appropriate punishment for “crimes” in this nature, “Liable to go to prison for no more than 5 years”.
Ok well that is Canada...
Well let me take to my email inbox and read to you something that is stateside.
Dear Friend of Biblical Counseling,
Greetings and Happy New Year! I hope this email finds you and yours well. I am writing to inform you of an ongoing development that could have significant ramifications for biblical counselors. In West Lafayette, IN a city ordinance has been proposed, Ordinance 31-21, which if passed would ban any attempts by biblical counselors to speak biblical truth in love to minors wrestling with sexual orientation or issues of gender confusion. This ordinance is threatening to fine counselors and counseling centers up to $1,000 per day.
While various legislative actions have been taken against what is often called Conversion or Reparative Therapy in the United States over the last decade or so, this ordinance differs from the current legislation on two significant fronts: (1) this ordinance specifically targets unlicensed counselors (2) conversion therapy, as defined by this ordinance, has been given a far broader and ambiguous definition compared to current legislative action. To be clear, the fundamental tenants, practices, and goals of conversion therapy in no way reflect a biblical approach to counseling. But the intentional ambiguity of this ordinance would hold pastors and biblical counselors (both licensed and unlicensed) in violation of this ban if they attempt to counsel a biblical sexual ethic to a minor struggling with same-sex attraction or gender confusion.

Times are rapidly changing. We are talking about 20 years ago.
Had J.K. Rowling made the statements that have now caused her to be canceled, so to speak, at her own reunion, had those statements been made 20 years ago, just about everyone in the world would've said, "Yes, that's right," if they had even understood the categories. That just shows you how much change has taken place in such a short amount of time.

We take what God has said and we question it and then disguard it as false and then come up with our own definition of life and pass laws based off of our understanding rather than His.
When any nation does that…we should hear a voice saying WOE! very loud and very clear. That is not only dangerous and foolish, it is wrath inviting and wrath inducing.

The article in USA Today by Yasharoff explains the absence this way. She has doubled down even after the posts were widely perceived as transphobic, misinformative and hurtful."

Attention, the One World Order has issued a warning.
There is a Subculture of Christianity that deems itself as “evangelical.” Much has been sought in the way of reconciliation with this radical sect of born again believers, as they so aptly like to refer to themselves as such. Even such a title draws distinctions and builds walls, rather than promoting unity. Even in the midst of their own religious framework, commonly called Christendom, they create further boundaries between themselves and their own, by emphasizing the importance of what they like to call “sound doctrine.” I do not think that I need to emphasize the destructive nature of such a concept. Surely, I would not deem such a foolish distinction would be lost on such a wise and attentive audience.
This sect refuses to acknowledge one of their leaders' own words, when he himself says that “all things are permissible.” They would rather tie heavy, burdensome loads of theology upon their listeners, when they themselves wouldn't think of lifting a finger to help.
Much of Christendom has come to realize that we are far stronger together than we are apart. Sadly, Christianity as a whole has often been “behind the times,” so to speak. Though it always takes a little longer for certain proponents of this religion to come around, they always uniformly fall in line eventually.
This can be seen in the past decade, as many Christian leaders have embraced our brothers and sisters throughout the world, from the LGBTQ, to those who affirm a woman's right to choose what she does with her own body.
Many have even recognized that Christianity has had a checkered past in its promotion of slavery, and its degregation of women. Certain leaders have come to see this as an indisputable fact, and have evacuated the movement in droves.
We are happy to see the heartfelt support from many within the movement for those who have since left it.
Much to the chagrin of its adherents, those identifying as “born again Christians” have often been behind the religion as a whole. Whereas many under the umbrella of the religion itself have followed their mentors' leadings, sadly, these “born again believers”, much like Christianity itself, are slow to follow suit.
We are pleased to announce that many inside the small sect of have grown more accepting of those outside its realm, even members who have since left its ranks and joined with the “secular” and LGBTQ. Many within the ranks have recognized the utter futility of the subject matter they put forth, and have moved on to new and better endeavours.
We are happy to announce our heartfelt agreement with our ecumenaical brothers and sisters who have stepped out from the realm of irrelevance, and into the realm of peace, love and unity. Many are partnering with members from other religions, totally antithetical to their own. We see this with the acceptance of Hebrew Israelism, and even certain sects of oneness pentecostalism. Rather than dividing over menial issues like doctrine, baptism & church membership, they seek to build others up in a spirit of unity.
While we appreciate and applaud the strides forward that these believers as a whole have made, we would be remiss if we didn't mention the growing faction within the movement that claim they are “new creations created in Christ Jesus.” Though we have often considered letting this foolish sect die out on its own, we have come to see them as an unwelcome nuisance that would be better dealt with immediately than left to fester. Like an open wound on a patient, if left unchecked, it will produce infection, and only slow down the healing process. This infectious faction must therefore be cut off and discarded as the unwanted disease that it is.
While many of the former groups from this sect have since fallen out of view and existence, one continues to expand and fester within its ranks. This small group of radicals, attending services at Faith Community Church has continued to spread its hateful propaganda like the plague. The preaching from the pulpit has since swept through the membership, in-sighting small pockets of non conformity to current cultural norms. The teaching threatens to set us back from all the progress we have made.
Were they to join rank with us, we would heartily accept their surrender, and welcome them with open arms. So far, they would rather stand guard on a cold, dead book, than on a living bond of unity. They would rather worship a cold and capricious deity who is jealous and full of wrath rather than a loving deity who is accepting of all.
We urge you to abandon your posts and join us as the United Church. Resistance is futile. While we have extended an olive branch, this group has stood in its resolve to stand against the great ecumenical utopia we all long for.
This is a radical sect that must be eradicated immediately. Shun them. Do not support them. Silence them. Cancel their Culture. Remember, this is a must, if we are to produce the love and unity that we all desire.
We will do our part as your loving leaders, to ensure that you as faithful citizens will not have to endure any of their announcements or promotions. All we ask is that you pledge your undying allegiance to the cause at hand.

A Christian Home
The church in America is going to suffer so terribly and you laugh now but they will come after us and they will come after our children. They will close the net around us while we are playing soccer mom and soccer dad. This will happen while we are arguing over so many little things and mesmerized by so many trinkets. The net even now is closing around you and your children and your grandchildren and it does not cause you to fear. You will be isolated from society as has already happened, anyone who actually believes the Bible will be considered a lunatic until finally we are silenced.
We will be called things that we are not and persecuted not for being followers of Christ, but for being radical fundamentalists who do not know the true way of Christ, which of course is love and tolerance. We’ll go down as the greatest bigots and haters of mankind in history.
They've already come after your children and for most of you they got them. They got them through the public schools and indoctrination in the University and indoctrination and then you wonder why your children come out not serving the Lord. It’s because you fed them right into the devil's mouth.
So, little by little the net is closing around and then it’s not little by little. Look how fast things are going downhill just in a matter of weeks, matter of weeks; but at the same time know this: persecution is always meant for evil, but God always means it for good.
You must settle this in your mind, this is the one thing I want to say over and over: Many of us have a wrong idea about martyrdom and persecution. You think that these men were persecuted and martyred for their sincere faith in Jesus Christ, that was the real reason, but no one heard that publicly. They were martyred and they were persecuted as enemies of the state, as child molesters, as bigots, as narrow-minded stupid people who had fallen for a ruse and can contribute nothing to society. Your suffering will not be noble, so your mind must be filled with the Word of God when all people persecute you and turn on you and if the Spirit of God and common grace pulls back and you see even your children and your grandchildren tossing in the lot that you should die. This is no game.
You want revival and awakening, but know this, for the most part great awakenings have come because of the persecution of the church.
I believe God is bringing a great awakening but I believe that He is raising up young people who are strong in trust in the providence of God so that they might be able to wade through the hell that is going to break loose on us and it will be on us before we even recognize it. Apart from great awakening, these things are going to come upon you. Be ready to lose your homes and everything."
