Good to see everyone.
Thank you for being here.
Today is a cold morning.
I know that it's hard to get out and we want to continue.
I know.
Remember Miss lc2 and David.
Cuz I know she hasn't been doing too well, but she was here this past Wednesday night, and it was good to see you.
And so is good to see you this morning as well.
Well, there's the give me go back one slide, Mickey to the Happy New Year a lot of uncertainties out there with the covid in and you know, I would suspect, I don't know, but I would suspect, they'll be another variant soon.
You know, I don't know what they're going to call it.
This one was why I'm crying.
So maybe they'll go with Delta or Gamma or something like that.
The Greek alphabet.
Or maybe they should go to Omega.
That's the last letter in the Greek alphabet.
So maybe that'll be the last ran.
But you know, as we think about this coming year even in your own life, just think about your own job situation in your family and maybe some things that you're looking forward to, some things may be that you want to do.
Maybe a new job, maybe a new relationship.
I know there's going to be a new baby back there, you know, as well.
So a lot of changes are going to happen this year too.
Probably, all of us.
We don't know what they're going to be.
We don't know how good how bad, how indifferent.
So, we want to face the new year and the challenges with courage and, and with strength.
And what I want to do today is I want to talk about the real Prosperity Gospel.
Now, you hurt heard me before, talk about the Prosperity Gospel, but Joel Osteen in a lot of others preach on TV, and what they're talking about is wealth in and getting this, and buying this, and having all this money, and they preach of Prosperity Gospel.
Well, today, I'm going to preach Prosperity.
Gospel may have something to do with wealth, but probably not.
It has more to do with God because this is God's Prosperity Gospel that I want to preach.
This morning, so I want you to take your bibles if you would and turn to Joshua chapter 10 test Joshua you say, I don't know where it's at in the Bible.
Well, just think of Genesis Exodus Leviticus Numbers Deuteronomy, Joshua's Nexus, the sixth book of the Bible, and we're going to be we're going to look at the first 9 verses in Joshua, the first 9 verses and we're going to talk about the real Prosperity Gospel.
We're going to talk about how to have success in this new year.
And as I was studying this and thinking about it, these principles don't apply just to this year.
This applies for being your entire life.
I have truly believe that if we will follow out the lessons that we learned in this, that this will be the key to a successful and prosperous whole life, not just this year, but let's look at Joshua chapter 1 and I want to read the first 9 verses and then I'll give a little context and then we'll start.
So this is what it says.
After the death of Moses is the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua, the son of nun.
Moses assistant saying, Moses.
My servant is dead.
Now therefore arrive, go over this.
Jordan you and all this people to the land which I am given to them the children of Israel.
Every place that the sole of your foot will.
Tread upon I have given you.
As I said to Moses from the Wilderness and this Lebanon is far as the Great River, the river Euphrates.
All the land of the Hittites until the great sea toward the going down of the sun, Shelby.
Your territory.
No man, shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life as I was with Moses.
So I will be with you.
I will not leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong and of a good courage for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance, the land which I swore to their fathers to give them only be strong and very courageous that you may observe to do.
According to all the law which Moses my servant, commanded.
You do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left that you may Prosper, wherever you go.
This book of the law is speaking of the Bible, the book of the law and I remember we've got sixty-six books.
Joshua had five.
If I only had the first five books of the Bible, so this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do.
According to all that is written in it for.
Then you will make your way there's our word prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Have I not commanded you here it is.
Again, be strong and of a good courage.
Do not be afraid.
Nor be dismayed for the Lord.
Your God is with you.
Wherever you go.
Well, Moses is dead.
Now, we all know Moses and his death came at a perilous time and I remember this generation that we're talkin about failed to believe God at k-dash barnea.
And what had they done for the last 40 years, then walked around in the wilderness just drifted out there in the wilderness and Moses was leading them.
And God told Moses that look, you're not going to be able to carry these children into the promised land.
You're not going to see it.
But your successor, Joshua.
I'm going to allow him to do that.
So this new generation they were gathered on the East Bank of the Jordan.
And they were ready to cross to inherit the Promise Land.
Not remember, this Promised Land, the land flowing with milk, and honey, was the land of Canaan.
And what do we know about the Canaanites?
Well, they were real tall.
They had a bunch of jobs and they were big and they were strong, and the children of Israel was going to have to drive out the Canaanites from the land even though they were larger, they were probably more in number.
They had a military background.
What, what kind of background in Israel have in military.
The last 40 years.
They've been walking around in the desert and what are they been eating, man?
I'm dropping from the sky every day.
So all they worried twill Manor one around in the wilderness for 40 years.
No military training or anything like that.
No Organization.
No technology.
They were not to prepare to conduct military campaign, but they Had to go in the land and they had to drive out these Canaanites.
And to do that.
They had a new leader, not going to be Moses.
The one who brought them out of Egypt.
It's going to be Joshua.
He just been Moses sidekick.
So think about how Joshua felt when the Lord told him.
This just think think about what the people how they felt if you'd been called in as a consultant to consult Joshua.
What would you have told him to do?
How would you tell him to react to all this?
Well, thankfully Joshua did have a consultant and he had a Divine consultant.
He had God himself and if you read these 9 verses and if you really think about them, they're probably the most powerful motivational speech that I've ever read.
Matter fact this speech right here.
These Nas versus that I read has helped me a lot in my life.
This was one of the first scriptures that I remember that I ever went to after I got saved.
