Proverbs 20:6 KJV 1900
6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: But a faithful man who can find?
Psalm 12:1 KJV 1900
1 Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; For the faithful fail from among the children of men.
In these end days
Well done thou good and faithful
What impact does faithfulness have on other people
What impact does someone have when they say I’m done with church
Isaiah 55:4–6 KJV 1900
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, A leader and commander to the people. 5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, And nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee Because of the Lord thy God, And for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. 6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, Call ye upon him while he is near:
David was given as a leader and a commander
The Son of David the Lord Jesus Christ
Leadership principles today
Leader and commander of the people
Leading nations
You have no idea how many people you are going to lead
Everyone is leading
Whether large or small - how do
Faithful of little
I have no aspiration to lead more than what God wants
Right place
right values
right morals
Faithful men who are spiritual leaders
If you cant lead you, you cant lead anyone else
A faithful man know how to lead one - himself
leading yourself is the most important
It’s a daily struggle to lead myself
I have to lead myself
to get up early
to spend time with the Lord
You have to lead yourself
Saved 1994
Going to college
serving in the bus route
read bible - prayed but it was always in a rush
As long as i was bringing people to church
As long as i had more on my bus route than someone else
We can perform and work and it’s amazing what we can do in our own power
But God revealed to me it doesn't matter if we do all these things and we dont have a inner strength of spiritual power - it catches up with us
Burnt out
Moral failure
Doing these in the outer man but not growing in the inner man
I remember working for a church
Feeling that I was entitled to certain position
Identity is not found in position
God had to strip me of all of me so that he could bring me here.

Rather than being concerned about competition, we should focus on leading ourselves. If we lose, the reason is most likely because we disqualified ourself by lack of faithfulness or leading ourself.

Are you leading yourself - if you are, where are you leading
Your family
Your brother and sister in christ

Learn to judge yourself

People seldom judge themselves
If you don’t judge yourself you won’t be able to lead others properly
Ask God to examine yourself and show you who you are
We usually compare ourself with someone less than us.
If a crowd means someone is spiritual then the superbowl wins
Psalm 26:2 KJV 1900
2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; Try my reins and my heart.
Your kidneys remove your waste from your body
Please make sure the waste is being filtered out of me
Examine my mind, dont let me fool myself
2. Ask others to examine you
Ask someone that knows you to tell you
James 5:16 KJV 1900
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Cant seem to handle examination
blood tests
other tests
Men don’t like to be told they have some blindspots
what you don’t know wont hurt you but it actually kills you!
Husbands sitting down with their wife
what do you think about me - dont get upset
wives asking husbands
Take it to heart
Husbands asking their children - what do you think about me
If you ask for examinaion dont get mad
1 Corinthians 11:28 KJV 1900
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
3. Be honest and examine yourself
leader, faithful, man
Let another man tell you what they think of you
Leading Yourself

Learn How To Follow

“Civilization is in danger when those who have never learned to obey are given the right to command”
If you cant follow a pastor you cant lead in the church
parents that want to be obeyed but dont want to obey
Positions dont cause us to not do meanial tasks
there is a lot to be said about a person who will empty a trash can, sweeping a floor
The best way to connect with someone, if you want to lead, is to teach as you do the job yourself - modeling, not just commanding.
Men, learning to help their wife.
Men, learning to help another Christian.
I dont ask people to clean when I dont clean
I dont ask people to sweep a floor if i wont sweep a floor
One of the greatest ways to learn how to be a leader is to align yourself under authority and follow leadership.

Men who have never submitted to authority tend to be:

Proud, unrealistic, impatient, rigid, angry, controlling, demanding
home, work, church will be destroyed by this type of leadership
As we learn to submit to oneanother in the Lord, we are demonstrating true leadership
Wives submit
Children obey
Servants obey
Then...
Ephesians 5:21 (KJV 1900)
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Job, Ministry
Become humble - Less of yourself means more effective in helping others
God is looking for faithful men to lead, but faithful men must learn to follow
God helped me learn lessons in following
The next step of obedience you take maybe a step that leads you to greater leadership and influence.
1 Samuel 17:17–18 KJV 1900
17 And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren; 18 And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.
A son listening to his dad - no idea what God would do in his life
Took some food to his brothers - then he slew a giant
you may not like it
David took care of sheep
Ran errands
One simple obedient task - without complaining, operating in obedience
Will you examine yourself
Will you let God examine you
Will you let people examine you
God put you in the body of Christ
God is looking for faithful men
Proverbs 16:6 KJV 1900
6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: And by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.
1Sa 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
