We are starting a new series this week titled Our House.
When you ask someone what they think about the church, be prepared for any response. What they say may inspire feelings of anger, sadness, joy, or hope, depending on what they have experienced in their dealings with believers.
This four-week series for adults explores four congregational values that should define our relationships with those inside and outside the church. When we fulfill our biblical call to the four c’s—commission, community, commandment, collaboration—we can be the church that glorifies Jesus.
This week we will be looking at the first C commission.
We will be answering the questions. What is our commission? how do we do it? How does that fit in to Open Door family Vision.
if you have your bible open them up to Matthew 9:35-38. If you do not have your bible you can follow along on the screen in a few moments. I also what to encourage you to take notes this morning on what God lays on your heart. The only way you or I will remember anything is by writing it down.
Before we look at today passage. I have a question for you.

what was it like? Out In fort Sask. Every spring and summer they had a sheep herd that would graze the ground around the park in the downtown core. But there was a Shepard and a sheep dog close by. Sheep are not the brightest animal out. In fact they would just wonder off if the Shepard and dog was not there to keep them in line. The mIan thing they want is food and they will do anything to get it.
Jesus continued going around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
Jesus saw a need

These verse happen after Jesus calls all of his disciples together to start there training. Jesus had been walk all over the place healing and share who God was and what he was doing. We do not know how big the crowd that was falling was but we see that Jesus saw a need. The need that everyone was lost. We see A lot of illustration through out the bible about farming. We see another here. Jesus said this people are sheep without a shepherd. We wonder around looking for answer trying to find anything that can. You see sheep are not a dump animal. In fact they are very smart for an animal. They form bonds with other, grieve for the when one is lost. You see humans are like this. We stick together in group protect one another grieve with one another. Jesus saw that these people for look for answers

Jesus showed compassion to them
the word compassion here mean in Greek to move into the inward parts The heart lungs,. It also means that he took pity on them Or in other word he felt their need in his heart. He loved this people. He wanted to help all of them but he couldn‘t to it allow. You see Jesus wasn‘t just the God that come down to say everyone was a sinner and need to repent. He loved each and every person first.

for time reason i will not be read chapter 10 but in this charter Jesus send out all the disciples to go around Israel and share the love of Christ and what he had done and is going. Jesus told them to alone go to Isreal and no where else at the time. The reason is that Israel was God chose group but they chose not to lesson to God or Jesus. He sent them out two by two to share. Not by themselves. Jesus wanted them to only go to the Israelites at this time. Where does that leave us? Where do we fit in? It leave us with Jesus last words before he went into heaven.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
We are to share with everyone
We are to share with everyone
This is evangelism. sharing what Christ has done for you. theres nothing big and fansy you have to do. You do not have to go to school or Semonary to understand how to share with someone. A lot of time when we think of evangelism we think of the great events Like Billy Graham that so many came to know Jesus. if Jesus has saved you then you should be willing to share that with everyone around you. It does not must. Some time just a little sign of compassion help share who Jesus is. That leads to the next thing.

No matter what someone has done we should love them like Christ loved them. You see the best way to tell someone about Christ is to show them that your life is different. That you have changed . That Christ changed you.

We are help those that are in need. Not just the one that we are close too.

Evangelism is more than just facts about God—it’s an invitation to experience the fullness of life in Christ. It’s making an impact in their life that they will never forget. You is it more that just telling people that they are sinners. It’s more that. It the showing them that God can and will still love them.
Impact is in our vision statement here at Open Door. God has put us here to make an impact in live around us. You never if you tell one person about Jesus were will that end up. That one person might just end up
