Jesus was called by many names.

Rabi / Teacher
Son of David
Son of man
Messiah
Christ
You identity does not come from what others call you it comes from what Father calls you.
Jesus became fully man so we can follow His lead as human kind.
Jesus went through a process of identity too:
Matthew 3:17 NASB95
17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”
Matthew 4:1–4 NASB95
1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ ”
What can we learn in these scriptures about identity?
Father will tell you who you are.
Holy Spirit will lead you into the wilderness.
You will be tempted by the tempter.
We live on the every word from Father.
1. Father will tell you who you are.
Some of you are right here. If you have not heard from God who you are, do you make time to hear from Him?
Do you have anytime set aside to hear from Father? or do you just let life and experiences tell you who you are?
Maybe Father told you some things about you a while ago but you have let go or forgot the words of life.
Read the word of God and let Holy Spirit highlight words of Father to you.
Pam had many good examples to look at.
2. Holy Spirit will lead you into the wilderness.
Some of you are in this dry place where you don’t feel like your hearing God anymore or you don’t feel like He is confirming you or proving your on the right path.
I propose that Holy Spirit may have led you into the wilderness to solidify what Father said to you.
What did Father last say to you?
This place is the in between what Father told you and the prof of what He told you is true.
3. You will be tempted by the tempter.
When God gives you a name there is always a testing to prove that name true.
Do you have a process to help you find your way through the dry spells of your journey?
Let’s not get hung up on being tempted by the devil or not.
The truth is you will be tempted to see if you believe what you heard from Father or not.
My dad has often told me that you get accused of the opposite of what Father told you, you are, before it feels real.
It may be good to know your hook, bite so you know when and how you may be tempted the most.
Bites: Lies we tend to believe.
If what Father told you was true then it would have happened by now.
If what Father said to you was true then people would believe that about you already.
I am not enough.
Even if you try your hardest it will just make it worse.
You will be left alone.
Father is angry at you and wants to punish you.
Father is an abusive father.
Father will not have your back...
The enemy will try to get you to take a short cut to what is true.
Trusting what Father said to you and His timing is what makes you into that Word.
There are no shortcuts.
4. We live on the every word from Father.
Jesus quoted scripture out loud. “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ ”
Jesus feasted on what His Father said to him the entire time in the wilderness.
Jesus cut out what He is normally feed by in order to feast on ‘I am His Son and whom He is pleased.’
We cut out what we normally live on to hear Father.
Jesus cut out what He normally lives on to feast on what He just heard.
We need to say out loud the word of God over our lives.
You can borrow the words God spoke over others until He speaks them directly to you.
When Father gives you words, we are to feast on those words.
We can even cut out what we usually survive on and instead feast on every word that Father speaks to your heart.
You have all been called out by Father to be part of the body that functions in the manor of which you were called.
One who Endures

One who ______
Take the name, the identity, the purpose Father is calling you and let it become fully who you are.
Closing:
Do you have a process to help you find your way through the dry spells of your journey?
Father gives us all a name, an identity, and purpose in Christ. If Jesus went through a process of solidifying what Father spoke to him, then we will all go through this same process.
Father will tell you who you are.
Holy Spirit will lead you into the wilderness.
You will be tempted by the tempter.
We live on the every word from Father.
Father gives us all a name, an identity, and purpose in Christ.
If Jesus went through a process in solidifying what Father spoke to him, then we will all go through this same process.
Activation:
If you have heard Father clearly, what can you cut out to feast on what He said?
If you have not heard from Father, ask Him what do you want me to feast on?
