Salvation

Your decision to accept Christ has and will continue to dramatically changed your life!
Not only that it has changed your relationship to God
John 8:44 NLT
For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
The hard fact is that before our salvation experience we were just another sinner on the road to destruction but now we are called into a new relationship with God through Christ
Peter reminds the believer,
1 Peter 4:3–4 NLT
You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols. Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you.
Paul wrote to the Corinthians
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
The problem in Corinth was that the church had become tolerant of blatant sin practiced in public and disguised it as grace!
As I have always said, Grace is not a license to sin but rather freedom not to!
Our lives as sinners meant that we were separated from God and nothing that we could do would change that fact!
Paul summed it up in these words
Romans 3:10 NLT
As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one.
God fortunately had a different idea
Romans 5:8–9 NLT
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.
You see when we couldn’t reach God, God reached us!
Ephesians 2:8–9 NLT
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
We are saved through faith in Christ unto a new life and relationship with God!
If that is the case, then we are all rights dead to sin!
Romans 6:11 NLT
So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.
The word life here is the word Zao It means “the essence” of life not the action of physical life itself
It is different from Zoa which is the activity of life
Literally it means the character of the soul! the fabric of eternalness of your soul
We could say that what you demonstrate who you are!
Before a sinner now a saint!
That is why Jesus often spoke about the actions of a person reveling the heart of a person
So be “saved” means to become a citizen of the Kingdom of God
As we know, every Kingdom has rules and a ruler. That ruler is absolute and his ways final
That is why the Scripture calls us Ambassadors for Christ
2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
An ambassador is not a representative of the land to which he is sent. He is a representative of the land from which he comes showing the ways of his people!
Do you get it?
We are now supposed to be showing forth the ways of our heavenly country not adopting the ways of the people to which God has sent us!
Allow me to say that while Salvation is the result of something your received, it is also a call to give something back for the gift!
You received:
Redemption
Ephesians 1:7 NLT
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
Cleansing
Titus 3:5 NLT
he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
Regeneration
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Justification
Romans 5:1 NLT
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Adoption
Romans 8:15 NLT
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
Acceptance
Romans 15:7 NLT
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
Eternal Life
John 5:24 NLT
“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.
What you should give:
Philippians 1:27–29 ESV
Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God. For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,
The choice is yours!
