Marriage Statement in HCC By Laws

I. Submission is not a dirty word. (vs 15-21)

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. “Philippians 2:3

1. There is a physical union.

2. There is a mental union.

3. There is a spiritual union.

II. Walk in spirit of submission and love. (vs 22-24)

1. To submit is God’s will.

2. To submit is God’s order for the family.

I Corinthians 11:11-12

“Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.” Col 3:18

III. Husband is to love his wife. (vs 25-33)

1. With the very love of God.

a. It is set apart and cleansed.

b. It is has no spot or wrinkle.

c. It is holy and without blemish.

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her..”

Eph 5:25

2. With the same love for yourself. (vs 28)

3. With the love that propels you to leave home. (vs 31)
