This morning we are going to consider three verses in light of last week’s message on the powerful salvation you and I can receive!
SALVATION has always been God’s Plan “A” from the beginning… as we read through the pages of scripture we see God revealing over time “the grace that would come”.
Peter desires for his readers to understand this concept and its importance as it relates to this salvation and as he is speaks about how it can and should bring hope for the believers then and even now!
Peter pens these words as he expresses this truth to his readers in 1 Peter 1:10-12…
Today you and I get to look into things which even the angels long to look at!!! Wow, what a privilege.
YOU
Peter stresses to his readers that what was spoken of in the past was for them!
It would come to YOU
They were serving YOU
Announced and Preached to YOU
Grace & Glory
The “things” that were prophesied to them… to you and me!
As we look at the scriptures we see that the coming GRACE was being declared and looked forward to
There was a GLORY… a Heavenly Reign of a King to come that was anticipated
Looking back at these things would bring HOPE to Peter’s readers as they were going through their trials…
Old & New
It is ALL SCRIPTURE… we do ourselves a disservice when we allow our minds to think that the old testament scriptures hold no value for us today!
Peter encourages his readers to recall “things” declared in the Old Testament!
Peter in the book of Acts is recorded quoting scripture (OT) to lead people to Christ
The hope of SALVATION, the wonder of GRACE, and the anticipation of His GLORY is filly comprehended as we understand the Old and New Testaments TOGETHER!
This wonderful salvation to which Peter is directing his readers has been God’s plan from the very beginning!
