Our Daily Armor

The Armor of Light, Romans 13:12
Romans 13:12 NASB95
The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Weapons (armor or instruments) of Righteousness, 2 Corinthians 6:7
2 Corinthians 6:7 NASB95
in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,
Breastplate of Faith and Love, 1 Thessalonians 5:8
1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NASB95)
But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love ...
Helmet of Hope, 1 Thessalonians 5:8
1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NASB95)
... and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

The Armor of God (The Faith)

We Resists by The Faith, 1 Peter 5:9
1 Peter 5:9 (NASB95)
But resist him, firm in the faith (τῇ πίστει), knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.
Is Based Upon the Strength of Our Lord, Not Ours, Ephesians 6:10
Ephesians 6:10 (NASB95)
Finally, be strong (ἐνδυναμοῦσθε) in the Lord and in the strength (κράτει) of His might (ἰσχύος ).
Used Only In the Evil Day - The Day We Are Under Attack, Ephesians 6:13
Ephesians 6:13 NASB95
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
A Battle for the Mind, Ephesians 6:12
Ephesians 6:12 (NASB95)
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers (ἀρχάς), against the powers (ἐξουσίας), against the world forces (κοσμοκράτορας ) of this darkness, against the spiritual wickedness (πονηρίας) in the heavens (ἐπουρανίοις).

Girding the Loins with Truth, Ephesians 6:14

Ephesians 6:14 (NASB95)
Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth ...
Referring to the Thoughts - What goes through the mind, 1 Peter 1:13
1 Peter 1:13 (NASB95)
Wherefore, prepare (ἀναζωσάμενοι) your minds (διανοίας) for action, keep sober in spirit (νήφοντες), fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Truth is Seeing Things as They Really Are
Truth is an Attribute of God
He Always Speaks the Truth, Romans 3:4
Romans 3:4 NASB95
May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified in Your words, And prevail when You are judged.”
He Always Does What He Says He Will Do, Numbers 23:19
Numbers 23:19 NASB95
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
God Does Not Lie, Hebrews 6:18
Hebrews 6:18 NASB95
so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.
Combats Lying and Gossip
Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-4
Acts 5:1–4 NASB95
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and kept back some of the price for himself, with his wife’s full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? “While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
Those Who Gossip, 1 Timothy 5:13-15
1 Timothy 5:13–15 NASB95
At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention. Therefore, I want younger widows to get married, bear children, keep house, and give the enemy no occasion for reproach; for some have already turned aside to follow Satan.

Breastplate of Righteousness, Ephesians 6:14

Ephesians 6:14
... and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
We Are Righteous Because We Are In Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:21
2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB95
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
By His Stripe We are Healed, 1 Peter 2:24
1 Peter 2:24
and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we having die to sin should live to righteousness; for by His stripe you were healed.
Abraham’s Righteousness is an Example for Us - it was a righteousness out from faith, Romans 4:22-24
Romans 4:22–24 (NASB95)
Wherefore also, it was credited to him unto righteousness. Indeed, it was not written because of him only, that it was credited to him, but also because of us, who are about to be credited, to the one believing upon the One who raised Jesus our Lord out from the dead,
Not Through Any Quality of Law, Romans 3:21
Romans 3:21 NASB95
But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
Defends Against Independence from God and Pride
Independence from God - the one knowing to do good, James 4:13-17
James 4:13–17 (NASB95)
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord desirously wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is malignant evil. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Pride - A Novice Falling into the Condemnation from the Devil, 1 Timothy 3:6
1 Timothy 3:6 NASB95
and not a new convert, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil.
Pride - Argumentative; Not Content, 1 Timothy 6:4-6
1 Timothy 6:4–6 (NASB95)
The one who is proud stands for nothing but is obsessed concerning debates and arguments out from which comes envy, strife, blasphemy, malignantly evil suspicions, corrupt augments, corrupting the mind of men and defrauding of the truth, while thinking profit is the godliness, withdraw from these. But the godliness is great gain with contentment

Feet Prepared With the Gospel of Peace, Ephesians 6:15

Ephesians 6:15 NASB95
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
This is the Message for Salvation, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 NASB95
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
It is a Gospel of Peace, Not Works, Romans 5:1
Romans 5:1 NASB95
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Defends against Stealing, Laziness in Spiritual things, and Bitterness
Stealing, Ephesians 4:27-30
Ephesians 4:27–30 (NASB95)
neither give place to the devil. The one stealing, let him no longer steal, but rather let him labor, working the good with his hands, in order that he should have to give to the one having need. Stop letting every rotten word proceed out of your mouth, but if something is good toward the edification of the need, in order that it should give grace to those hearing. And stop grieving the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed unto the day of full redemption.
Laziness in Spiritual Things, 1 Timothy 5:11-15
1 Timothy 5:11–15 (NASB95)
But refuse the younger widows; for when they have begun to grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry, having condemnation because they have cast off their first faith. And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not. Therefore, I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage the house, give no opportunity to the adversary to speak reproachfully. For some have already turned aside after Satan.
Bitterness - A Result of Thinking You Did Not Get What You Deserved, Hebrews 12:15-16
Hebrews 12:15–16 NASB95
See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.
We Graciously Received the Gospel Message
Not Sparing His Own Son, Romans 8:32
Romans 8:32 NASB95
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
The Spirit of God Makes Known to Us What Has Been Graciously Given to Us, 1 Corinthians 2:12
1 Corinthians 2:12 NASB95
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,

The Shield of Faith, Ephesians 6:16

Ephesians 6:16
Above all, having taken up the shield of the faith, by which you will be inherently able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the malignantly evil one
Faith is Taking God at His Word, Hebrews 11:1
Hebrews 11:1 (NASB95)
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of that which is hoped for, the evidence of accomplished deeds not seen.
Without Faith We Can Do Nothing, Hebrews 11:6
Hebrews 11:6 NASB95
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Faith Produces Actions in Our Lives, James 2:26
James 2:26 NASB95
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
Defends Against Doubt
Doubt is to thoroughly judge or dispute. Not in a good sense. This would be doing something that you know you should not do while hoping for an outcome that is acceptable to God
Asking While Doubting, James 1:6
James 1:6 NASB95
But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
Are we asking according to His will? Then We Will Receive It, 1 John 5:14-15
1 John 5:14–15 NASB95
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
Are We not Receiving it? Then We are Asking to Consume According to the Flesh, James 4:3
James 4:3 NASB95
You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
The One Doing Something While Doubting Sins, Romans 14:23
Romans 14:23 (NASB95)
But he who doubts condemned himself if he eats, because he does not eat out from faith; for whatever is not out from faith is sin.
Fiery darts of the malignantly evil one
They are to get you to doubt what God has done and provided for you.
Remember, Satan is trying to spread his wickedness to you by getting you to act independent from God.
Doubting is when you do something that you think is against the standards God has set for your life.

The Helmet of Salvation, Ephesians 6:17

Ephesians 6:17 (NASB95)
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Our Salvation in Christ, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 NASB95
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
Defends Against Disappointment, Discouragement, Cowardice in Spiritual Things, Unforgiving (not gracious) Spirit
Disappointment, Job 3:1-26
Job 3:1 NASB95
Afterward Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
Discouragement, Job 10:1-22
Job 10:1 NASB95
“I loathe my own life; I will give full vent to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
Cowardice in Spiritual Things, Luke 22:31-32
Luke 22:31–32 NASB95
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
Stand as Men, 1 Corinthians 16:13
1 Corinthians 16:13 NASB95
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Unforgiving (Not Gracious) Spirit, 2 Corinthians 2:10-11
2 Corinthians 2:10–11 (NASB95)
But one whom you forgive (χαρίζεσθε) anything, I also; for indeed what I have forgiven (κεχάρισμαι), if I have forgiven (κεχάρισμαι) anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ,
so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

The Sword of the Spirit, Ephesians 6:17

Ephesians 6:17 (NASB95)
… and the sword belonging to the Spirit, which is an utterance from God
This is the Utterances of God
Used to Defend Against Any Attack that Makes it Through the Other Parts of the Armor
Defensive, Not Offensive
The sword is used for all other types of attacks that get through the other parts of the armor. It is defensive still, not striking out, but destroying the attempts by Satan to negatively influence our thoughts by using specific statements from God’s word to counter them.
Defending against corrupt communication Ephesians 4:27-30
Ephesians 4:27–30 NASB95
and do not give the devil an opportunity. He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Defending against being a busybody or Gossip 1 Timothy 5:13
1 Timothy 5:13 NASB95
At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention.

Communicating on Behalf of Other Saints, Ephesians 6:18

Ephesians 6:18
With all worship and supplication, worshiping at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,
Worship is Giving God Credit for Who He Is
Supplication is a Cry for Help - Supplicating on Behalf of Other Saints
The Church’s Authority Over Demons Is to Stand Against Them
Our Battle is for the Mind
We Have the Armor of God
Put It On Only In The Evil Day
Once It is On, Stand Firm
