Paul was encouraged by the existence, the presence, and the support of his brothers in Christ. Knowing it was the specifics of his situation that caused the Christian brothers in Rome to immediately go to greet and assist him, he was convinced of their affirmation of the path he was on and that they would support him regardless of the cost to them. These things all gave Paul greater courage for the path before him. And they do the same for us.
