Continuing the Prophecy

The prophecy starting in chapter 9
of Alexander the Great and the protection of God for Israel
continuing with Jesus contrasted with Antiocus Eppipenes
how God used Israel as His war machines against the Greeks
Again this prophecy will be at the end of the tribulation beginning of the Millennial kingdom
because this chapter is a continuation of the last lets look at the last 2 verses
Zechariah 9:16–17 LEB
And Yahweh their God will save them on that day, as the flock of his people; for they are like the stones of a diadem, glittering on his land. For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men thrive, and new wine the young women.
on that day
The people of Israel are Jewels in the hand of God
How great is it’s beauty ( the Land)
Grain shall thrive
Lets look at the restoration of the land and people
Read Zech 10

God’s Inheritance

Before we look at Zechariah lets look at this subject
Inheritance is what the family gets after the death of someone
but this is an inheritance that God gives to himself
lets look at this
what is God’s inheritance
Deuteronomy 4:20 LEB
But Yahweh has taken you and brought you out from the furnace of iron, from Egypt, to be a people of inheritance to him, as it is this day.
the people of Israel
Deuteronomy 32:9 LEB
For Yahweh’s portion was his people, Jacob the share of his inheritance.
Psalm 33:12 LEB
Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen for his inheritance.
God has made the people of Israel His inheritance
an inheritance is mostly something of Value
God’s precious possession
Deuteronomy 7:6–9 LEB
For you are a holy people for Yahweh your God; Yahweh your God has chosen you to be for him a people, a treasured possession from among all the peoples that are on the face of the earth. “Yahweh loved you and chose you not because of your great number exceeding all other peoples, for you are fewer than all of the peoples, but because of the love of Yahweh for you and because of his keeping of the sworn oath that he swore to your ancestors, Yahweh brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. So know that Yahweh your God, he is God, the trustworthy God, maintaining his covenant and his loyal love with those who love him and with those who keep his commandments to a thousand generations,
God has a special love for the people of Israel
Romans 11:2 LEB
God has not rejected his people, whom he foreknew! Or do you not know, in the passage about Elijah, what the scripture says—how he appeals to God against Israel?
turn to Romans 11
foreknew God’s special intimate love
to know some one is a sexual relation
God will always have a remnant
the majority will turn away
but God always keeps for himself a portion of people
during the time of Jesus there were an outcast group of priests called the Essenes
that were true to the law and prophecies
that were looking for the Messiah and recognized Jesus as the Christ when he was here
in the end there will be a small remnant of the people of Israel that Jesus will gather

The Millennial Kingdom

Zechariah 10:1 LEB
Ask rain from Yahweh in the season of the spring rain— Yahweh, who makes storm clouds, and he gives showers of rain to them, to everyone vegetation in the field.
this is a rain that will turn the desert green
Just ask Him
Isaiah 30:23 LEB
And he will give rain for your seed with which you sow the ground, and grain, the produce of the ground, and it will be rich and fertile. On that day, your cattle will graze in broad pastures;
the Idols you have been consulting are evil and no good
Life without God
a people are wanderers in a land of make believe
a world of lies and deceit
Zechariah 10:2 (LEB)
Because the household gods speak deceit, and those who practice divination see a lie, and the dreamers of vanity speak in vain. Therefore the people wander like sheep; they are afflicted because there is no shepherd.
the people have no good leader to guide them
a sheep without a shepherd
Zechariah 10:3 (LEB)
My anger burns against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders, because Yahweh of hosts watches over his flock, the house of Judah; and he will make them like his majestic horse in war.
the leaders and shepherds are not doing right by the people they are taking care of
like our leaders today
they have one agenda: to make the US a third world country to hand over to United Nations
to destroy our economy, our way of life, to make every one dependent on the govt.
to destroy the constitution, to destroy our freedoms
Why because what they want is what they think is best
what they want is to be apart of a one world government under on ruler
why do they think this is right
turn to Romans 1 18
God has given them over to a depraved mind
and the majority of the people will follow
But Jesus will be their King
their righteous, just, and peaceful king
Zechariah 10:4 LEB
From them the cornerstone will go out, from them the tent peg, from them the battle bow, from them every ruler, all together.
from them/ him= Judah
the King will come from Judah
the foundation cornerstone
the center tent nail where the most valuable possessions are hung
the keeper of the peace,
ruler of the nations
because Jesus is with them, they will destroy their enemies
Zechariah 10:5 LEB
And they will be like warriors, trampling in the mud of the streets in the battle. They will fight, because Yahweh is with them, and they will put to shame the riders on horses.
Jesus will bring them back into the land where they belong
Zechariah 10:6 LEB
And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and the house of Joseph I will save. And I will bring them back, because I have compassion on them, and they will be as if I had not rejected them, for I am Yahweh their God, and I will answer them.
Zechariah 10:7 LEB
And the people of Ephraim will be like a warrior, and their heart will be glad as with wine. And their children will see and rejoice; their heart will shout in exultation in Yahweh.
Zechariah 10:8 LEB
I will whistle to them and gather them, for I have redeemed them, and they will become numerous as they have been numerous before.
they have been among the nations but have not forgotten who they are
Zechariah 10:9 LEB
Though I sow them among the nations, in the distant places they will remember me, and they will stay alive with their children, and they will return.
Zechariah 10:10 LEB
And I will bring them back from the land of Egypt, and from Assyria I will gather them. To the land of Gilead and Lebanon I will bring them, until no room will be found for them there.
Zechariah 10:11 LEB
And he will pass through the sea of distress, and he will strike the waves of the sea, and all the depths of the Nile will dry up. The pride of Assyria will be brought low, and the scepter of Egypt will depart.
Zechariah 10:12 LEB
I will make them strong in Yahweh, and in his name they will walk, declares Yahweh.
God will not forget His people the Israelites
He has a special plan for them
they will be redeemed
they will come back
they will be the center of the world
they are His special inheritance

The Bride, An Inheritance

is the bride also an inheritance?
are we replacing Israel?
Ephesians 1:18 LEB
(the eyes of your hearts having been enlightened), so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance among the saints,
some want to take this verse and say look we do replace Israel
but lets look closer
when the Jews rejected Jesus as their Messiah some of the olive tree branches were broken off
Romans 11:17 LEB
Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although you were a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them and became a sharer of the root of the olive tree’s richness,
we have become a sharer to the olive tree that represents Israel
we too are a precious possession of God
that God gave to Himself
again Paul speaking
Galatians 3:6–8 LEB
Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness, then understand that the ones who have faith, these are sons of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, proclaimed the good news in advance to Abraham: “In you all the nations will be blessed.”
again in the same chapter
Galatians 3:14 LEB
in order that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
we are this inheritance to God. from God to Himself
Imagine...
God the creator of the universe wants to give Himself a gift
something of great value
something precious in His sight
because we were before he changed us
Titus 3:3–7 LEB
For we also were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, enslaved to various desires and pleasures, spending our lives in wickedness and envy, despicable, hating one another. But when the kindness and love for mankind of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
because God wanted an inheritance
He gave us an inheritance
we have become Heirs with His Son Jesus
are you an heir
be like the Philippian jailer when he asked
What must I do to be saved?
