Refuse Comfort

Hebrews 11:23–27 (CSB)
By faith Moses, after he was born, was hidden by his parents for three months, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they didn’t fear the king’s edict. By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasure of sin. For he considered reproach for the sake of Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking ahead to the reward.
By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.
Introduction:
Faith.... Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.” In other words when it come down to it, Faith is “Santified common sense”. Just make good sense to a born again believer. When all that we know about Jesus it’s just seem like common sense to trust Him, to place confidence in Him, with all the fundamental facts we know concerning Him. Adverbs Good Great Greater Best Better goes before provider, protector, Good Shepard, Good Samaritan, Great Teacher, Best Friend, High priest, He gives the best promises. The things we know of him just makes good sense to depend on him. When he is a pillow and pillar, and bridge and a door, when he is the way truth and life. When is yoke is easy and burdens are light. Santified Common Sense should tell you that you need to have faith in him. Thats what the preacher in hebrews tried to share with the latter and modern day audience. He his encouraging us to endure, by bringing up famous and filmiliar faces, with fundamental facts to push us forward towards better.
If you read Hebrews you will see the adverb Better through out the book, to remind us that Faith in Jesus is better, is greater, is far superior over Judisam, over angles, over Law or Legalism, Greater than the afflication, presucution you may face. Universe must bow down, and walls must fall down. So great that the saints of old only needed a shadow to follow, and death couldnt cancel his plans or interrupt his promises. This is what you have on your side to overcome any adversity.
Maybe just like the recipients of the letter, you are wondering here weather following Christ is worth the scandle, is it worth the headach and the heartach,
Somebody today is asking the question is Jesus worth the trouble?
Is he worth losing, is he worth giving things up, is he worth the best seat in my heart… If Moses was here, Im confident he would say YES! JESUS is WORTH THE Trouble!
What Better person to remind believers who are facing various trials and wanting to revert back to things they use to do. Moses the freedom fighter, The one God used to liberate the people he loves.
The author led by God says that Moses stance and enduring faith can even cause liberation in your life today.
I think that its amazing how the life of Moses started.... Moses had some risk taking parents, who were not scared to trust God inspite of Goverment law. Parents who put God above Goverment. That instilled God in him, introduced him to the God of abraham, issac and jacob. Every time it was time to nurse Moses momma sung a hymm, time to bath moses, there was a word. and when it was time to Grow up, Moses stood out. Moses grew up and made a choice who he was going to serve, who he was going to follow. How he wanted to be precieve. Im not a son of a Eygptian woman, I am a son of God.
Moses Faith shows us how we are going to endure in times like these.
Hebrews 11:24-27 “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter /and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasure of sin. /For he considered reproach for the sake of Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking ahead to the reward. By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.”

Refuse to Live in Comfort

He refused Privelage Power and Fame
Think about how crazy this is. Moses has as his inheritance all the privilege and position you could have hoped for. He has one of the highest positions in the world’s mightiest empires. ● Yet, he walks away from all of it. And on what basis. ○ It wasn’t like he left one position of power for another. It wasn’t like he traded the presidency in Egypt for the presidency of Israel. That wouldn’t happen for another 40 years. He left the halls of power to go feed sheep in the desert and wait on God! ● Can’t you hear people telling him how crazy he is? “Moses, this position, this palace, this power, is real; you have got a real 401K and real future security here in Egypt. And you’re leaving it all for what? You’re leaving what you can actually touch for what you can’t. That is a bad career move, Moses. ● But he did it. He traded the visible for the invisible because he believed it.
If you gone stay in the race sometings you gone have to give up. Hard to run as it is.. But to run with all these bags, all these distractions. If its a hinderance give it up.
Listen Faith and Comfort dont mix…
“God does not call us to live the safest life possible. And yet, this what the majority does.”
I am not saying that God doesn’t want us to enjoy the pleasures of this life. That you can’t enjoy a lovely home. And that God doesn’t want to bless you with those things. That isn’t it at all. But if our main goal in life is to seek comfort, then we need to reevaluate our priorities.
But Faith pushes past the boundaries. Faith knows no boundaries. Faith colors outside the lines and create new pictures.
Faith will never be understood by the world. Their faith is safe… Their faith says if I can touch ill trust it, only if i can see it than ill believe it, only when my credit is right ill apply, only when money is in the bank then ill start. The faith of the believer is always misunderstood. Because the things that God would have you do cant be explained but he still expects you to excute it.

Responds to Confrontation:

hebrews 11:24-27 “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasure of sin. For he considered reproach for the sake of Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking ahead to the reward. By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.”
“and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasure of sin.”
Faith is a choice.... I love how the author sets this up.. Faith is not a mindless or a thoughtless decesion… Chose: is a mathmatical word. Moses added and counted it all up and came to a conclusion, came to an answer… At the end of working out the problem moses conclueded that sufferring was better than the enjoyment of physical, unbibilical fleeting pleasures of sin. God says put me up against whoever or whatever? You can put the best of the world and the worst of what you heard about me…
Faith is a Responds to Gods Revealation…
God revealed something to Moses. Moses left the courts, left the palace and went to the fields, labors, mistreated, opressed. Bible said Moses Observed. God also observed. Faith does not ignore Conflict, it Stands against it. Faith doesnt keep silent in Mistreament , Faith dont just standby, Faith Responds! Faith isnt for the idle, Faith is for the suited and booted. God allows you to Observe what he already know, so that you may Respond to Conflict. The conflict is my people are in bondage, my people are hurting, in pain, in affliction.
Remembers to Live for a Cause:
hebrews 11:24-27 “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasure of sin. For he considered reproach for the sake of Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking ahead to the reward. By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.”
Moses reminds us that, everyone will not agree with you choice, and there life is to live to make you regret it. But someone will be helped by your choice, and will live their life in freedom. By faith moses chose God and looked ahead to the reward. Thats in the perfect tense.... Moses endured because He look toward the reward and he kept on looking. His eyes was fixed and his mind was made up. The reward that God has is greater, better, superior than what the world has to offer. One reward is that Ill be with Gods people, and one thing I know is God loves his own. Live for more than yourself. The more I help others, the better it makes me feel. Makes me want to worship, praise sing, when you learn to live for a reason. It keeps the fire burning, no time for a relapse, to busy helping the lost, to busy helping the needy, to busy building up my community, Im doing more than observing, but serving.
He also Refused to live in comfort
I'm living this life just to live again And with the Lord I know that I shall reign I shall not stray...with Him I'll stay He'll welcome His children home one day
