Was telling me this morning in your Bibles to Matthew chapter 10? Matthew chapter 10, we're going to look at a portion of scripture and 9:25.
I'm going to talk about this discipleship thing that each and every one of us ought to be striving, to do to learn more about Jesus to grow with him and to be more like him.
Matthew 10:25, we read this this word.
It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher and a servant that he be like his master.
It is enough for disciple that he be like his teacher and a servant that he be like his master.
Is that enough for you?
To strive to be like Jesus, it is, is that enough that does that get your attention?
Being with Jesus.
Means that we're going to learn from Jesus.
And how to be like Jesus.
In fact, when Jesus began his public Ministry is three years of public Ministries, about the age of 29 somewhere around there.
He called together 12 guys to come and follow him into walk with him in this life Journey for the three years of his public Ministry.
And we, we've heard about these guys week.
We know some of their names.
We might not know all their names, but we also know that not each and every one of these guys that he had called to walk with him.
For those three years were, perfect men.
I mean, we, we have a Judas involved.
And that the 12 do we not I don't know, too many people who have used that name for their children.
Right.
It's just not one that you would really look at 2. See the glory of a child with a name like that.
Not too many people would go in that direction and that would because they they're they're the fact of what it stands for.
But I don't know any children named Judas.
I know some adults who sometimes might act like a Judas.
Any of, you know, any of those folks who whoever they may be.
I don't know, but, but Jesus uses all people to accomplish his will.
To accomplish what's being done in the world around us?
And I hear is all the time as churches that as people say well we we we need you to pray for Laborers.
We need more service week.
We need more people to to do the work at and that's true, we do.
But if we start to pray for Laborers, we need to beware.
Because you may become the answer to your own prayer.
If you're willing to do, what God has called you to do, looking for someone to Matthew chapter 10, and when he had left, he called his twelve disciples to him.
He gave them power over clean, unclean spirits to cast them out, and the hill, all kinds of sicknesses and all kinds of diseases.
We, we see these words.
Therefore, pray, the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into his Harvest.
I've heard in a lot of churches.
I've heard of a lot of people pray for.
God to send laborers into the Harvest.
But some of those same people when asked to do something I like and it's it's not in my wheelhouse and it's not one of my talents.
It, it is not something I can do.
But look at that verse 12, chapter 10 again and look at something that he shares with us in there.
And when he had called his 12 disciples to him, he gave them what Power.
It's not your power.
It's not my power.
It's a power that God gives us to do the work.
He's called each and every one of us as Believers to do.
Believe it or not.
It's Spring, right?
I've heard that rumor.
I'm waiting for some warmer weather.
Today is not one of those days next couple days and may not be, but warmer weather is on its way.
So I hear And you begin to Jared about planting things at and taking care of things.
And if people say, well, wait till the weather is consistent and it's warm enough and you plant this and you plant that in those of you who began your plan things earlier seedlings.
You don't got, your Greenhouse is all set up whether it's outside or inside wherever it is, you understand some of that ability to grow a seed.
Really has nothing to do with you all.
We can plant it, we can put it where it needs to be to get it, positive and ready to go.
We can water and we can fertilize it, but that's really all we can do.
We cannot make that seed.
Grow.
Only God can God is the one who gives the power to that seed to begin to grow and go forth and then our own life when we began to look at these things and to understand that well, I have abilities, I have talents.
Why isn't God using my ability?
Why isn't God using my talents?
Some of that, maybe because we're striving to do it on our own.
And not with the power of God.
You look that have been in this church for many years.
And those of you who have only been in this church, a short time.
You've heard my story.
Pretty my, my stories haven't changed its white pastures change churches.
Lots of their stories are new to people.
My stories are 30 years old, a man.
My wife tells me that you've told us that story.
I don't know how many times that's all.
You'll probably hear it again over the next 30 Years.
See what I did there.
I'm not going anywhere.
Unless God takes me out.
That's not my plan.
But here's the thing.
This is not what I wanted to be doing when I was 18 years of age.
Standing in front of a church sharing, the word of God is not the desire that I had.
Is what I knew.
God was calling me to.
But it wasn't my desire.
There were other things that I wanted to do.
There were other places I wanted to go.
There was a lot of other things I wanted to be able to accumulate in my life that I didn't think I could do in this position that I grew up in church.
My father was a minister.
I know how this works.
It's it's been a part of my life, all of my life.
Today, 18 years of age.
When were beginning to think of the direction that we may want to go.
We're getting on a high school.
What do I do from here?
Do I go into the military or do I do?
I go to college or do I just go and learn a trade and apply that trade?
If you had something that you really desire to do that, there was something that you really wanted to learn, you would go and you would learn whatever that was to the best of your ability and then strive to apply it.
Nurses would go off to nursing school, right?
Welders would go up and learn how to weld and maybe they've been learning all all along in life.
But now it's, it's time to put that trade, apply that trade to where somebody Would reimburse us for it.
I remember seeing something on social media about a welder.
