The story of David and Goliath is part of a bigger story. It is not simply to help us face "our Goliaths", although properly understood, it is that too. Rather it points us to the one whom David prefigured so well on that day, one who is perfect, and faced a far more terrifying enemy: our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us prayerfully consider not only the full weight of what He has accomplished for us, but also whether that victory has caused us to "rise with a shout and pursue".
