If you were to ask a biologist, “What are the essentials of life?” he’d answer, air, food, water, light.
If you were to ask a pharmacist, “What are the essentials of life?” he’d probably give you a long list of trace minerals, and important vitamins that you need.
If you were to ask a survivalist, “What are the essentials of life?”, he’d say a shotgun, bottled water and a bunker.
What is the essential to having a life of faith?
Imagine the Creator of the Universe wants a relationships with you.
1. You need a plan to live out
What is your plan for solitude?

God is SEEKING those who spiritually SEEK HIM
John 4:23 - A time has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
You see, I believe that God is not a bully. God will not force you to do something. God is not a party crasher. God will not step in when he is not invited. God does not have a bull-horn. God will not scream in your face to get your attention. God is a loving God that calls you quietly to have a relationship with Him. He knows you are busy, and He waits patiently for you.
2. You need power to live on
Isaiah 40:30-31
30 Youths may become faint and weary,
and young men stumble and fall,
31 but those who trust in the Lord
will renew their strength;
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not become weary,
they will walk and not faint.
Why? The battle is real - recognize you need Jesus

Our Core Needs With God’s Answer
Security – will I be loved? Unconditional love, grace, forgiveness.
Significance – do I matter? God’s power works in you.
Truth – what do I base my life on? You only find it in Jesus.
When pain enters your life - you get a distorted view
Pain is wasted when we allow it to press us down
Don’t waste your pain
- fight against the spiritual is real
You need that because there are a lot of things in life that drain your life of power, drain your life of energy and strength and vitality and stamina. Change definitely can rob you of energy. Stress can rob you of power. Conflict can drain your life. Delay can drain your life of energy. Frustration can drain your life of energy. And everyday work can drain you of the power in your life.
The Center for Bible Engagement surveyed more than 400,000 people and found that if you’re not reading your Bible at least four times a week or more, then you won’t make significant changes or choices any differently than someone who doesn’t read the Bible.

This means that if you take the time to quiet your heart, you will hear his directions for your life:

for your work situation – God will give you the direction you need!

Social isolation significantly increased a person’s risk of premature death from all causes, a risk that may rival those of smoking, obesity, and physical inactivity.1
Social isolation was associated with about a 50% percent increased risk of dementia.1
Poor social relationships (characterized by social isolation or loneliness) was associated with a 29% increased risk of heart disease and a 32% increased risk of stroke.1
Loneliness was associated with higher rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide.
Loneliness among heart failure patients was associated with a nearly 4 times increased risk of death, 68% increased risk of hospitalization, and 57% increased risk of emergency department visits.

God has all the power you need and you get it by waiting on Him or by focusing on Him. The more you focus on God the more you plug into His power. If you spend a lot of your life focusing on God, you’re going to have a lot of power in your life. If you spend a little time focusing on God, you’re going to have a little power in your life. If you don’t spend any time focusing on God, you’re going to have no power in your life.
3. You need principles to live by
You are being tested. Life is a test. It is not the final act. This is the warm up act. You are being tested by how well you follow what God says to do in His word. And you need principles to live by. God’s going to see if you’re going to live by them or not.

PREMODERN - Just accept it
MODERN - we can measure it and argue about it
POSTMODERN - deconstruction and everyone has their own
METAMODERN OR TRANSMODERN - truth is emerging and we should do whatever works
We’re seeing this attitude being implemented in every area of our society – politics, government, education, every area of life. You’re hearing people say things like “There are no absolutes. There is no absolute right and there is no absolute wrong. It’s just what you want it to be.” Whenever I hear anybody say that I want to say, “Are you absolutely sure?” That statement in itself is an absolute.
The moment that anybody has the courage to stand up and say this is right and this is wrong, always. Then you’re labeled a fundamentalist, a bigot, a nutcase of some kind. Because you’re not tolerant.
Folks, there’s something more important than tolerance. Truth.
Acts 20:24 - But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.
Your Big Plan, Your Big Dream, Your Big Scheme, Your Big Ambition that you’ve got all laid out that this is what I'm going to do with my life. You get so busy on The Big Plan that you’ve thought up that you miss the the little moment that God wants to give you!
