The Anointing…

1Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”
1Samuel 16:11-12 “And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.” (this is the one)
We often fall into the beliefe that the anointing has a look. It’s error to think that a person must “look anointed” in order to be anointed. Notice Jesse brings out all of his sons except David. This signifies that Jesse assumed that Samuel was looking for statue and not posture. SN: Dont fall into the trap of looking a par but not being a par.
1Samuel 16:5 “And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the Lord: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.”
All of them were sanctified but David. They were set apart to attend this feast only to be rejected because they werent the one. SN: Must people who are anointed are never invited to the table at first. Its clear that David was quilified he just wasnt present. He was tending to his father’s sheep. That’s where David’s posture was, his father’s sheep. David was fulfilling his assignment given to him to tend to his father’s sheep. his posture was clothed in obedeince.
Obedience is the key to your next position. If God cant trust you, He wont shift you.
It’s the obedeince to the call that qualifies you. We want to be anointed but we dont want to be obedient. Our obedience is better than any sacrafice we could ever make. #freestyle....
Samuel anoints David, but notice, David didnt go right into position, he went back to his posture (tending his father’s sheep). it was years later before David had even become King. It obvious that posture came before position. david had to go through the process before he could just go into the position. While ending to his father’s sheep, he encountered a bear and a lion. Not because they were it was just a bear and a lion, but because they were after his assignment (the sheep). Some fok are not after your anointing (cause they didnt pay for it), they are after your assignment. No assignment, no appointment. Our willingness to be affective is geared towards what are we assigned to do. #freestyle.... David plays the evil spirit off of Saul.
The FIGHT
David is telling this to Saul to inform him that He is well able to take on Goliath. the field taught David how to fight. He was being made into a warrior because he was given a charge. You will always protect what you have a passion for.
David takes the head of Goliath with a smooth stone and a slingshot. Not an arrow, knife or spear, but a stone and slingshot. What other folk carry may not be for you. There are times when you have to use what you got to get what you want.
From this point on, David becomes a mighty warrior. His posture is slowly but surely takes him through many positions.
The Glory (the ark)
2Samuel 6:14 “And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.”
Joyful dancing, leaping and divesting of his royal mantle (in the state of undress). David’s praise was undignified as a king. When you are a praiser, it matters not your position. You understand that praise is commly to the upright. Praise has saved my life many of times! #freestyle....
Heart of Forgiveness
David is already in position. He’s king, the glory is present, he’s a praiser and a worshipper, but now he gets beside himself. he sees another man’s wife by the name of Bathsheba. He has to have her to he decides to be with her. he gets her pregnent and in order to cover it up, he gets her husband killed on the front line.
He tricks everybody but God. God sends the Prophet Nathan to give a word to David. #freestyle… Nathan’s are just as important than our anointings.. #freestyle…
