Intro: There comes a time in an individual’s life when they must come to a conclusion of what is real and what is a fantasy.
That time is now for our graduating seniors.
Life is fixing to get real for them as they enter the next chapter of their lives [work, college].
What you have learned from your family is the foundation of which you will build your life upon.
My hope is that that foundation is Jesus Christ!
Text; 2 Tim.
2:14-19
An atheist was walking through the woods.
'What majestic trees!
'What powerful rivers!
'What beautiful animals!
He said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.
He turned to look.
He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path.
He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.
He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer.
He tripped & fell on the ground.
He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.
At that instant the Atheist cried out, 'Oh my God!'
Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky.
'You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident.
Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?
Am I to count you as a believer?
'The atheist looked directly into the light, 'It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian?'
'Very well,' said the voice.
The light went out.
The sounds of the forest resumed.
And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke: 'Lord bless this food to my body, and me unto your service.
Amen.'
As funny as this may sound we can be as this Atheist in many ways, knowing God yet denying His power.
You don’t need to deny the foundation of Christ in your life or the bears of this world will destroy you!
1.
The Bears; 16-18
The next chapter of your life is going to be filled with BEARS that will chase you down, try to alter your path or destroy you.
Profane and vain babblings- language not respectful of your religious practice, blasphemous or obscene.
The world continues to spread its “disinformation” about the truth through various forms of speech, venues, and they will try to force it upon you.
Social media has become a platform for the censoring of free speech.
That free speech includes the expression of your faith.
Your words will be challenged and twisted, and many times shut down because they will be made to seem like hate speech and you will be assaulted by your peers.
College professors will call your faith into question in the classroom and often will use you as an example of bigotry and intolerant of the norms in society.
You will be ostracized by teammates, coaches and fraternities if you oppose what they believe or what they want their school to project to the world as being all inclusive to gender identity, LGBTQ+ and BLM friendly.
Ungodliness- lack of reverence for God [philosophy]
Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental questions, such as those about existence, reason, knowledge, values/morals, mind, and language.

according to a core sample taken by the engineers.
If the foundation is sealed correctly it will continue to strengthen throughout its life.
If we are sealed in the Blood of Christ and we depart from iniquity, we will continue to strengthen our faith throughout our life as well!
3. Strengthening Our Faith Foundation; 15
Be diligent- persistent to accomplish a particular objective, giving it maximum effort [Softball, academics, welding]
Approved to God- the purpose of our diligence is not to please others or ourselves, but to be pleasing to God.

Too many people [Christians] twist the scriptures to meet their needs or to fit their sin!
You will be challenged with that even more than now when you move into this next chapter of your life’s journey.
Matthew 5:21–22 (NKJV)
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’
