The Narrow Way

Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV)

13“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I.                   Introduction:

We can enter the wide gate and follow the broad road that leads to destruction, or we can enter the small gate and take the narrow road that leads to life. There are two ways, but only one choice. Choose not the easiest or most expedient way, but the way that yields the desired eternal rewards.

II.               Exit The Broad Way: The Highway To Hell

A.                 There’s Room to Spare: The Great Highway

B.                 There’s Plenty of Company: The Great Crowd

C.                 There’s Death Ahead: The Great Disaster

III.            Enter The Narrow Way: The Path to Heaven

A.                 There’s Strict Boundaries: The Right Way

B.                 There’s Few Companions: The Right Company

C.                 There’s Life Ahead: The Right Choice

IV.             Conclusion:

Death and Hell await those who take the road of least resistance. The way of the world is enticing, but that way leads to death. The way of Christ may be narrow and unpopular, but that is the only way that leads to life. Do not choose on the basis of the journey, but on the basis of the destination. We may travel for a lifetime, but eternity rests on the horizon. Choose your path wisely. It is a matter of life and death.
