The Will of God

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mt 7:21 NIV)

The will of God is to Save

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

(2 Pe 3:9 NIV)

 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.

The will of God is to Sanctify

And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

(Heb 10:10 NIV)

 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; (1 Th 4:3 NIV))

The will of God is Our Service

For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

The will of God is Our Thanksgiving –

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

The Will of God in Our Prayers

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 Jn 5:14 NIV)
