Opening & Intro

WHO HOLDS THE WORLD RECORD FOR HICCUPS? An American man named Charles Osborne was weighing a pig in 1922 and started hiccupping. He was still hiccupping 68 years later in 1990, after about 430 million hiccups. Mr Osborne holds the Guinness World Record for the longest attack of hiccups.
(After hiccups are gone after a long time.)
We grow used to it. This man at some point must have accepted it. Maybe learned to live with it. Then, once it was gone, I am willing to bet it was uncomforable and a little strange.
That happens to me after 30 minutes…I couldn’t imagine 68 years.
This cycle of Promise, commitment, breaking promise, leaving commitment, renewing promise…and so on has been the way since the beginning.
It is something that is so difficult for us to break free from.
But everything we experience makes us who we are.
I think about driving to Florida. I have made that drive from Florida to new brunswick 10 times. 6 of which were nonstop.
Do I miss the car ride? No! Was it nice? the I95 north to south isn’t very breath taking. Especially the carolinas...
I never miss those rides.
They were essential to get me to where I was going and there were some great times while on those journeys. But the 8th time I made that trip I started out from Saint John in a blizzard. It took me 9 hours to get to bangor Maine.
That’s usually a 3 hour drive!
The first time I saw the new york city skyline was amazing! BUT the ride was mostly miserable waiting for anticipation to get to Florida or home.
Well, thats what we are talkign about today. The past 5 chapters of Zechariah are about the history, what is looks like and what we can look forward to.
In the end the journey won’t matter.

Main Point

Will we miss the journey to Heaven when it is over? The Trials of today can sometimes become Idols in our lives.

Why Does it Matter

Believeing in Christ is more than a prayer. It is a decision to live a certain way. Making Jesus Lord of your life. (explain) will we look back on our lives and regret once we are in paradice?
Theif on a cross...

This is what it will look like! Victorious Conqueror

16 - God will be famous everywhere the remnant will worship Him
17 - God won't bless those who deny Him
20 &21 - no distinction between sacred and secular, and therefore no shortage of utensils for use in the temple. What was intended for a few will be available for all!

Application

Alexis loved Frozen...
Alexis meeting Anna for the first time!
(Show Picture)
The look on her face! She couldn’t believe it. That moment right there made the whoel trip worth it. I can show you so many photos of those moenets for each one of my kids…
Make a slide show joke...
Think about this If that is the case for a place on earth how much better will it be when we see God.
When we reunite with our loved ones.
I can tell you 100% I never miss the road trip. But I am glad I made it.
The trip we make is what helps to make us who we are.

Closing

Live a life with no regrets but if there are some, repentance and a new start is free and available.
