Acts 9:1–19 (NIV)
1 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.
10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!”
“Yes, Lord,” he answered.
11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”
13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”
15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.
Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.

Intro
our Story moving to dallas.
Saul’s Journey to Surrendering his will.
1 God humble Saul. (v.4,5)
Acts 9:4–5 (NIV)
4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.
When God starts to deal with us about surrendering our will to him, the first thing he does is that he humbles us before him.
Only when we are in the correct position, and we recognize his Lordship overall is that the process of Surrendering can start.
2 God asked him to wait for directions (v.6)
Acts 9:6 (NIV)
6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
After God Humbles us, God will ask us to wait for new directions.
Waiting is a stage that confronts our will with the Will of God Directly. We don’t want to wait.
In the season of waiting for the directions is the season, God will use to really start dealing with us internally.
3 God removed his vision and now he had to depend on other to be lead. ( v. 8)
Acts 9:8 (NIV)
8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.
In the season of waiting for direction, is when we don’t know what to do. we don’t get that many good ideas, we feel like we are in completely darkness.
due to the lack of vision, we also need to help of others to hold us by the hand.
4 God used the thing he hated the most to restored his vision. (v.12)
Acts 9:12 NIV
12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”
The final stage of surrendering our Will to God is when God uses the very thing we have been fighting God against.
this is necessary because this is the proof that now we are completely surrender to his Will, and not ours.
The Benefits to Surrendering to the Will of God.
1 God Gave him a new calling. (v.15,16)
Acts 9:15–16 NIV
15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
When Saul’s surrender his will completely is when God started to reveled the plans he had for his life.
Saul went from being a persecutor to being a preacher, from being an agent of death to an agent of life. God Change his past and gave him a new direction.
God also show him the price of this new calling, suffering would follow.
2 God empower him with the Holy Spirit (v.17)
God empowers those who surrender completely to his Will.
We will never know the Holy Spirit in a more deeper way, until we surrender our will to his will.
3 God gave him a new perspective, God gave him a new vision. (v.18)
Acts 9:18 NIV
18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized,
New vision came after surrendering to his will.
only we surrender out will to God’s will is when we start seeing things from a new perspective.
The new vision God is giving us is to fulfill the calling he has for our life.
Conclusion
Make a calling for those who have been wrestling with God and that need to surrender their will to him.
Make a calling for those who are in the middle of the process, to keep trusting the process.
make a calling for those who want to surrender their life to Jesus.
Hechos 9:1–19 (NVI)
