INTRO
So who remembers what we have been talking about?
Thats right we started talking about giving!
Do you guys remember the challenge I gave to yall?
We talked about mission pledges!
I challenged you guys to pray and ask the Lord to come up with a number to give to the Lord for the rest of the year.
How many of you guys did that?
Tonight we are going to be looking at 2 verses and we will find them in Romans Chapter 10 verses 13-14

So the message has been distorted because of a breakdown in communication.
It went through so many different channels that the original intent of the message was lost.
I do plan on explaining the cards here in a moment, but I want to lay down the foundation of anything we do as christians, and this includes giving and missions.
That is a clear understanding of the message. what is being communicated.
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
So we have a line of communication. It actually kind of works backwards from the ones who are sent to those who call on the name of the Lord.
When we think about missions, or spreading the Gospel to others.
Either across the world or across the classroom, we almost expect that the message will get to them one way or another. There is no need for me to reach out or start that connection because someone else can/will do it.
There is this thing that will happen sometimes happen. I have not been able to remember what it was called, but it goes like this.
Tell story of drowning person
We think that others around us will be the one so we keep on moving with our day. The fact of the matter is that there is no guarantee.
We think that the line of communication will be able to communicate the original message, when we just saw that clearly thats not the case!
Scripture shows the path to clear communication

Here is the proper channel of communication.
Send
Preach
Hear
Believe
Salvation
Now I get the, I don’t feel called into ministry so this doesn't really apply to me right?
WRONG!
Sending looks like giving, that is what the promise cards are for.
Preaching is talking about Jesus to your friends
Hearing is making sure that the conversation comes from a relational position so that they will hear your message and your not just on a soap box
This is when the channel of comunication shifts from you to the Spirit, however its not a bad idea to maintain connection.

Notice how when the path of communication is clear we can hear the message clearly
Spread them out
When we give to missions we then send/equip missionaries to spread the Gospel. that same message that we can hear so easily.
In telling others about Christ, an effective witness must include more than being a good example.
Eventually, we will have to explain the content
The what and how of the Gospel.
Modeling the Christian life is important, but we will need to connect the mind of the unbeliever and the message of the Gospel.
CLOSING
So we are going to be taking a few moments and really praying about how much we are to give to STL.
So we can be in the proper channel of communication of spreading the Gospel
