Matthew 26:29 KJV 1900
But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

Introduction.

Communion is a time of remembrance. We remember His Body and Blood, but it also speaks of the future. There is a promise in Communion.

The Reservation

He tells them “I have made reservations for another banquet like this one.”
There are several places in Scripture that promise this event.
Isaiah 25:6 KJV 1900
And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people A feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, Of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
Isaiah 25:7 KJV 1900
And he will destroy in this mountain The face of the covering cast over all people, And the vail that is spread over all nations.
Isaiah 25:8 KJV 1900
He will swallow up death in victory; And the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; And the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: For the Lord hath spoken it.
Isaiah 25:9 KJV 1900
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; We have waited for him, and he will save us: This is the Lord; we have waited for him, We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Jesus talked about it.
Luke 13:23 KJV 1900
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Luke 13:24 KJV 1900
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Luke 13:25 KJV 1900
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Luke 13:26 KJV 1900
Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
Luke 13:27 KJV 1900
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Luke 13:28 KJV 1900
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
Luke 13:29 KJV 1900
And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
John spoke of it.
Revelation 19:7 KJV 1900
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Revelation 19:8 KJV 1900
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Revelation 19:9 KJV 1900
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
(The last supper was a sad occasion. Communion is a solemn occasion, but that will be a joyful place.)
Many of them old saints has gone to the grave. But one of these days, yonder in a new world, when they come forth into the promised Land, the banner of the cross will be over us, and we’ll sing the victor’s song.
When we sit at the Wedding Supper that night, around the table, that great table, maybe a hundred thousand miles long, with the Blood-washed saints setting around there.
I want to go down along the table and shake hands with every one of them, amen, just shouting. You want to hear me shout? Wait till I get over there; watch me. I ain’t big enough, yet, for this. 54-0329 - Redemption By Power
We long with anxious hearts, thinking of the great time when we’ll have the Lord’s supper together, drink the fruit of the vine and eat anew of the food in the Kingdom of God and see that great table spread out for thousands of miles, all the redeemed of all ages gathered around the table.
As we look across at each other and shake each other’s hands, a little teardrop run down our cheek, then the King in His beauty shall come out in His white robe, walk down along the table, and wipe all tears from our eyes, and say, “Don’t cry, children, it’s all over. Enter into the joys of the Lord which is prepared for you since the foundation of the world.”    56-1215 - Hear Ye Him

The Down Payment

Not only has He made reservations for us but each of us has been given an earnest, a down payment on that day.
Ephesians 1:13 KJV 1900
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:14 KJV 1900
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
New Wine.
He said “I will drink new wine with you”.
Acts 2:12 KJV 1900
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
Acts 2:13 KJV 1900
Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
Acts 2:14 KJV 1900
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Acts 2:15 KJV 1900
For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
Acts 2:16 KJV 1900
But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
This wine was to remain with the church.
Revelation 6:6 KJV 1900
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Now we find out, that it stimulates and It gives joy, because It is God’s Word. And the new wine, the new wine stimulates …when It reveals the Word. Then, brings joy beyond measure, sometimes. We went through that, that it brings such joy till you get over-flooded.
Now, I know there’s a lot of fanaticism, and people carrying on. I know sometimes they do it when the music is jumping up and down, and everything. And I know that goes. And I believe that, too.
But I’ve seen people in the day when, as long as the music is playing, everybody was jumping and screaming; but when the music stopped, it stopped.
I believe…Well, that, that’s still all right, as far as I’m concerned, you see, as long as people lives right.
But, now, what, you start bringing the Word! Now, that’s the thing that actually brings Life, is the Word, and that brings the joy of stimulation of new wine.
Yes. And that’s what it was on Pentecost, when the Word was vindicated. 63-0321 - The Fourth Seal
We won’t need a big band to be joyful when we drink the new wine with Him.
This Stimulation of the Word doesn’t work in old bottles.
Luke 5:37 KJV 1900
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
Luke 5:38 KJV 1900
But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
Now, that’s the way it is today. You can’t take this brand new, heaven-born, Pentecostal wine and mix it up with them old time creed of some sort, some old set-in-the-way, dyed-in-the-wool.
Why, if you do, you go to preaching about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Divine healing, and signs and wonders, that old skin will try to stretch and it’ll blow: “The days of miracles is past. I can’t stand it no more. I can’t even stand through this sermon.” Blowie, out the door it goes.
But to put new Pentecostal wine, you have to have new bottles. Right. And new bottles is new skin; it’s still got animal oil in it. And that new skin will stretch.
And when you begin to preach the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the love of God, Divine healing, signs and wonders, a new skin…When the Bible said, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever,” the new skin will say, “Amen.” That’s right. It’ll stretch out.
The old skin will say, “Dr. Jones don’t teach it like that.” There you are. That’s the difference. What we need today is a brand new set of Pentecostal hides. That’s right. To preach a Pentecostal message…
Now, Pentecost is not at your denomination now. Pentecost is an experience. It’s not a denomination. Pentecost is what you receive. It’s an experience, when you can take it. Oh, and when that new life begins to work, and you read in the Bible, said, “I’m the Lord that heals all thy diseases.”
Then the new skin, as that life begins to enter in, stretches it out and says, “Amen, I believe it, Lord.” 57-0324 - Why Some People Can't Keep The Victory
Think about what it will be when the full New Wine is in New Bodies.
Ephesians 2:1 KJV 1900
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
“You has He quickened.” What does quickened mean? “Made alive.” Just about gone, but He quickened you just by the earnest money.
What will it be when you really get all the dividends paid on? Oh! No wonder Paul, caught up into the third heaven, said, “Eye has not seen; ear has not heard; neither has it entered in, entered the heart of man, what God has for them (in store) that love Him.”
What will that be! You talk about joy unspeakable and full of glory! Whew! Uhm! You who were once dead in sin and trespasses has He quickened together by the shadow of the shadow of the shadows.
What’s it going to be when you come to the shadow of the shadows into the shadow, the shadow then into the creek, the creek into the river, the river into the ocean?
And what is it when you’re way out there in redemption, with a brand new body, you’ve turned back to a young man altogether again, or a young woman, you’re never going to die no more?
And you look down on earth, and think, “I could enjoy some grapes and some good cold water, but, you know, I don’t need it here. But someday Jesus is coming, and this angelic body, this theophany that I’m living in…”
...He will speak someday and the dead in Christ shall rise, and that body that I once lived in will resurrect into a glorified body, and I’ll walk and I’ll talk, and I’ll live and I’ll enjoy (hallelujah),
I’ll live through the Eternal ages that is to come, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Whew! There you are, brother, that’s the Gospel! 60-0522E - Adoption #4
Jesus is telling His disciples, don’t get too discouraged, there’s a joy set before you.
Job got discouraged, and Jehovah reminded him about that place.
Job 38:4 KJV 1900
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
Job 38:7 KJV 1900
When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
If you were there, you will be at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
Hebrews 12:2 KJV 1900
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
2 Corinthians 4:16 KJV 1900
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:17 KJV 1900
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV 1900
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
How do we get there? Before the Marriage Supper we are united with the Word by the Son of Man Ministry.
Luke 17:30 KJV 1900
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
“In that day the Son of man will be revealed.” What? To join the Church to the Head, unite, the marriage of the Bride.
The Bridegroom call will come right through this, when the Son of man will come down and come in human flesh to unite the two together.
The Church has to be the Word, He is the Word, and the two unites together, and, to do that, it’ll take the manifestation of the revealing of the Son of man.
See, it’s Son of man, Jesus Christ, will come down in human flesh among us, and will make His Word so real that it’ll unite the Church and Him as one, the Bride, and then She’ll go Home to the Wedding Supper.
She’s already united, see, we go to the Wedding Supper, not to the marriage. But, the Rapture, is going to the Wedding Supper. When, the Word here unites with the person, and they two become one.
And then what does it do then? It manifests the Son of man again, not the church theologians. The Son of man! The Word and the Church becomes one. Whatever the Son of man done, He was the Word, the Church does the same thing. 64-0816 - Proving His Word

Conclusion.

You may be in a solemn season now but Joy is coming.
Psalm 30:5 KJV 1900
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
His anger was displayed on Calvary, but He loved His own to the end, so He prepared a place for them, a seat at the table, made a reservation, and gave the down payment.
