now, I just want to say I've

got my computer here now and Through the gracious efforts of a member of this church. I was also provided with a monitor down here. So that I could see it in larger prep. However, for reasons that we can understand, we can't you get that yet to work. So you pray as you think about it that the Lord will enable us this next week to get that working. If he desires to in the meantime, interesting me enough, I have copies of all the versions here, rather than my Bible and I have copies of the sermon in large print. So that if necessary I can see the Lord willing, I'll be able to see my computer. Okay, and Lord willing in spite of all of these infirmities, let's say the Lord will bless his Ward or Hearts. That's what's important. It's not important that I do a good job. It's important to God, speaks to your heart. And let me just say that I have started the back door of the church is my wife and I are going to do today. Lord willing. and I have heard people come out and say thank you and they will mention something that I said and, I will after they leave. Look at my wife and say, I don't remember saying that and I will go back and let me listen to the tape and I didn't say it who did say, the Holy Spirit spoke to their heart. That's what counts. He is. The one who's the great teacher, he is the one who speaks to our hearts, and we have to pray regularly when we go to God's word and we didn't. And when we come to a service like this, we need a few minutes to say, Lord speak to my heart, with the truth that you have for me. In order that I may know that true. So we're looking today in Ephesians chapter 1 verses 13 to 14 which Mike read for us and it has to do with the church members guarantee.

What I understand of the work of the Holy Spirit. At the time of Salvation is what we're going to be talking about today. And the first work is regeneration, the imparting of New Life. It's important to understand the necessity of this. In order to be part of the Heavenly sphere, we are who are equipped for the Earthly sphere have to undergo a metamorphosis in a pack. I changed it only going to help take place only God can do in John 3:6. And then that the whole chapter of John work, where the Lord is speaking nicodemo, he points out the fact that we must be born again. He says he that is born of the spirit is spirit and either born in the flesh is flesh. It's very similar to what we see in 1st Corinthians 15. You remember there? It says this Mortal must put on immortality, that's important. It's important to know that in this stage, you won't be able to survive in a different sphere but God has taken care of that. He has imparted to us new life and there are several verses that deal with this. The process is the washing of regeneration as it says in Titus 3:5. You can turn and look at that verse. If you want to it's Titus 3:5 and the interesting me enough. I have it right here and I may be able to see it. It says this Titus 3:5.

That is not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his Mercy, he has saved us by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit. That's the word of God. When we read the word of God, we have to stop and examine the water. It says it's it's interesting that there's a phrase in John, chapter 3. And as you read John chapter 34 yourself, you may see that out of your may remember. It says he, that is born of water and of the spirit. Well, interesting Lee enough. Some scholars believe that there's a mixed metaphor there and when it was translated should have been water in the wind sort of the metaphors, correct? Or the ward, and the spirit. Because the word for spirit is the word from which we get our word pneumatic, it has to do with air that blows and the Holy Spirit is the one that gives life to us. New life were born of the spirit of the Lord is often spoken of as the water, the washing of the water as it says in feet. First Titus 3:5, that's the picture. Where washed with water and were cleansed by the wind or the holy spirit wear Washed by the word and cleansed by the Holy Spirit. Fly. I'm so if we're a 5 or 17, it says we are new creatures, new creatures. That's important to understand that God has made us new. Now, as we look at ourselves, we don't see any change. And, as we experience ourselves sometimes, there's not any change either because we're still living with the power of the old man. But God offers us power. We'll talk about that in a few minutes. It's important to understand that we currently have two Natures inside us the old nature, and the new nature. I can remember a number of years ago, my mom was teaching class and she had a picture of a wrestling Arena. And she said, there are two people in that Arena Ypsi and Newman The Old Man, and the new man, and whoever is on top is winning at that point in time, we have a requirement to yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit. And it's interesting if you think about it on Father's Day, maybe the girls haven't experienced the ladies. Haven't experienced it, but I know that I was a young boy. Sometimes there was someone who was bigger than I was and they would get me in a headlock or next Locker bear, hug, or whatever and they say do you yield or when it came to the point where you couldn't do anything else you'd say? Yes I healed. That's the way the work of the holy spirit is God wants to help us do things but he requires that we say I yield a yield when we become helpless God becomes effective so it's important to understand that when he gives us new life, he wants to use us. He wants the Holy Spirit to work through us but he can't do it unless we yelled. So that's an important part of the second thing we see about the Holy Spirit, the second work but he's involved in in our lives is baptism. The word baptism is often misunderstood there are a number of churches who say that the baptism of the holy spirit is a crisis experience. Subsequent to the conversion and involves a number of different things. I won't go into all those of this time because you don't need to know that necessarily you just didn't know what the word of God teaches baptism is the word which means to place into something. Now, when I already passed her baptized you buy a mercer? We don't leave you in the baptismal. We raise your back up. Because if we left you there, the authorities might be knocking on the door. And so we have the picture that were buried by death. Like, Bryson were raised to walk in newness of life, but when the Holy Spirit baptizes, it's just like he put us in the water and leaves us there. He puts his in Christ and where there we are, there forever. It is the work of the holy spirit that puts us into the body of Christ. That is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It occurs when we accept the Lord, Jesus Christ as Savior and 1st Corinthians chapter 12, what you remember, it says, where for we are all by one Spirit, baptized into one body, that's the work of the Holy Spirit, the places into the body of Christ, it's important that we understand that, that's the key word. Shall we say after regeneration. The only spirit gives us new life and places, and then the body of Christ when I lived in Wasco, and a matter of fact, later on and an elder, would I have citrus on my property? What are the things that happens with Citrus is that? A new variety is graphed into the old one. What happens when that branch is shaking and it's cut off of original tree. It, there's no life available to it. It may have a little life left but not much. What one it is grafted into the Nutri, what does it get? It immediately get nourishment and life from the new tree? That's the picture that the Lord use. When he said, I am the vine. You are the branches. He expects us to begin to bear fruit because of the life that is in us because we've played been placed into the tree. We've been grafted in that's what's important. And we have to realize that unless we have that new life where Dad just like the bridge, It will, we will eventually die completely. There will be no life left but the Holy Spirit provides us with the process of being baptized into the body of Christ. All of you were baptized were baptized into the body of Christ. Galatians 2:27 says that's repeated over and over again, and then you asked me that it is a work of the holy spirit is an act, which separates us from the bondage. Excuse me of sin. It's important to know. And and all of us, at one time may have experienced this. When you are an unbeliever, what do you do?

You are under bondage or slavery this in? Seeing rain the Romans has in your mortal body. That's what you do. And it's important to understand that you do what you do because you are, what you are. You'll hear that from time to time for me you do what you do because you are what you are. you don't, you're not a sinner because you sent You sin because you are a sinner. All of us have inherited the old nature from our father and he and Ed. Are they clear back to Adam? That's what we are. What we do is sin but the Holy Spirit delivers us from the necessity of doing that. Now, he doesn't yet Deliver Us from the, from the opportunities doing We all have opportunities to sin. When we forget to yield to the Holy Spirit, But it's important to know that God offers that baptism of the holy spirit wear Barbara Place in the body of Christ like that tree. Limb is grafted in the trunk and we have nourishment. To be able to live the life that God wants us to live and they were accomplished. The purpose that he wants us to accomplish to witness to those around us to win those around us. That's the work that God wants us to do. And so it's important to understand that that can take place Colossians chapter 2, verses 9 through 13 or a great number versus there. But I just want to read a portion of it and you are complete in him. Complete in him. Now, I understand this was told to me years ago, so I may not have the story completely correct, but I think I do that word complete. Was used in dated a conversation and trade when the New Testament was written and New Testament, Greek. And they have found a piece of clay with some words written on it, the message and it says, for sale complete lamp. Now, if you happen to be the bar for that lamp, you wouldn't go and expect an in those days. Of course, it was a it was a probably, a camel with a glass chimney at me or something like that. It wasn't electric. But anyway, you wouldn't expect to find a few parts and nothing else. You would expect to find a complete. Wow, that's what is employed here. You and I are complete because of the work of the Holy Spirit. God doesn't have anything else to do. Except when we go to heaven, go Deliver us from our sin nature, but we're complete, we're complete. We're just, as the verse says, the fullness of him that Fill Up All In All, if the Lord, Jesus is complete where complete. That's what's employed here. God has done all the work. It's hard for us to imagine that. This is something that he sees as finished because we're in progress. And yet God has already done. All the work is necessary and so it's important to understand that and and take hold of it is an act which justifies us as a part of the body of Christ it makes us church members in effect. It's an act which accomplishes

I'm sorry, an organic Union. A provision of the support system if you will. That's what I thought about where the branch and being graphed in until that branch is Grafton. There's no support system, it's by itself. But when you're it's grafted into the trunk and now has the nurture that comes from root system and from the trunk and had bears fruit again, and you often say, well, I'm not a very good Christian. Well, you're not supposed to be by yourself.

You're supposed to be as a result of the work of the Holy Spirit. That's what counts. And we all have to be reminded that regularly God doesn't expect us to do certain things in our own power. Cuz we'll never do it. The children of Israel, learn that in the Old Testament. You don't remember one when Moses came down from the mountain and read the law to them. They said all that. The Lord has spoken. We will do wrong.

They didn't do any of it hardly and continually transgressed, but it's important to understand that the Lord now enables us through his holy spirit. He enables us to live according to the way he wants us to live. So it's important to understand that the that the holy spirit is that which empowers us. And that is also That which we seeing this verse. It says, after you believe you were sealed, With that Holy Spirit of promise. Now, where you go And buy a set of tires for your car. Maybe only by one might be of Life 45. And maybe go to the Firestone tour store. Let's just pick on that one and you get some and what we used to call Firestone maypops anyway. You hope they don't. but after the van installed in the tires, He gives you a sheet of paper that has a seal on it. Now, supposing something goes wrong with the tire the next day.

Judy, what are you do? Go and buy another car and no because you have a warranty or guarantee that that tire is good for so long. Hi. So based on that seal, that document than we've been, given you go back and get a new tire. That's part of the guarantee for that tire, or whatever it is you by, that's what God has done. He's giving up the Holy Spirit as the seal, they guarantee their King James causa to Ernest, which we think of as earnest money. Part of what God has put on the pods in effect to make sure that salvation is secure for us. That power is secure for us. The holy spirit is present in our lives, to give us that power. The moment, or we believe, he seals us, he gives us an effect. The document says this is warning an interesting Lee enough, it's not warrantied by mr. Firestone, It's not warrantied by you. It's guaranteed by God himself. He does the work and he issues the guarantee. So the question is are you always going to be saved? Yes. Why? Because God guarantees it. God guarantees that when you accept the Lord, Jesus Christ as Savior, you have ever lasting life. How long does that last forever? Forever its eternal life. That's what God guarantees. And so it's important to understand that, when the Holy Spirit is in our lives, he is the guarantee. And the scripture says he Witnesses with our heart that we are children of God. We may not be able to describe the anybody else? How we know for sure that we're safe but we know because of the work of the Holy Spirit In Our Lives it's the testimony. You can look at that if you want to. It says the spirit of God Witnesses with our spirit. That it weird children of God. And then it goes on to say. If children then are Heirs of God and Joint heirs with Jesus Christ, would you believe that you're rich? In spite of the inflation is going on in this world, in this country today, you're rich. Pine Ridge. At some point in time, we're going to be in heaven. Those of us who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, Our Savior and we will be Enjoy the wealth that God has given to the Lord. Jesus Christ because we are joint heirs with him and not great. You may struggle today to pay the bills. You know what? Eventually, it's going to be all the wealth of heaven and your disposal. But you won't need any of it because you won't live in a situation like you do. Now, it's hard to imagine the situation that will be in but God has given us that promise that we will one day be with him. And we are now already Heirs of God and Joint heirs with Jesus Christ. God has done that work and he's given us, the Seal of the Holy Spirit, the guarantee of Eternal I given Because we are sons of God. Galatians Chapter 4, Verse 6 talks about that. And I realize that I've given you a lot of references on your note C and we haven't taken time to see all of them today. Daryl has had one of them with these points on the screen but there's still more to look at. You know what? Part of the job. Part of the task of a pastor is to encourage you to study God's word and you got a whole sheet of scripture references, you can look up that relate to what we've seen there. Now, you need to not make the mistake that I did. I spent about 20 minutes the other day trying to find out why I had picked a certain reverse cuz it didn't make any sense at all. It said, John chapter such and such and I look too bad to worse and said and John was baptizing in the wilderness. I've been relate to my sermon whatsoever, I went to a good portion of the Book of John working for the perseid referred to, it couldn't find. Finally, I went back to my notes on the computer computer and looked again and I saw that the Roman numeral one was at the end of the previous launching. Its first job that I was looking for try not to make those kind of mistakes cuz I know you can see better now I can but sometimes it helps Larry and I were talking about this this last week you won't always remember the reference But if you read the word of God regularly, you'll eventually get familiar with where that verse occurs on the page. And you can find it again in that Bible by where that versus USA, okay? It was a long and are somewhere, and God will refresh your memory with at work. That's okay. Now, every nice to be able to remember all the references, which you notice, I can't, because most of what I learned was to reading the word of God, not to memorizing specifically. So it's important to know that. Now, it's good to memorize. I appreciate those who can do it, but I learned from reading, and when I was younger, I read a lot and it's important to do that. This the word of God helps you as a child. For your children and grandchildren. Now you have to realize that the best tool for getting a good reader is to learn to read the word of God because it's a little more formal language to learn some words they don't normally know and the reading will be inspired by the holy spirit in their lives. Remember the third verse of Revelation blessed is he that read it. It doesn't say he that understands. It says he has an interesting enough. It also goes on to say blessed. Is he that readeth? And they that hear. I can remember for a younger brother and sister. They knew the stories of the Old Testament. Many of them just by hearing them. Became familiar with the word of God because they heard every night for about 20 minutes or half an hour. They heard the word of God. It's important to know that it's important that we realize that the Holy Spirit has a Ministry in our lives of teaching us the word of God but it's important that we also understand that his work at that moment were save is regeneration, baptism and ceiling. Those are the three important things that happen when we saved and all of them affect our hearts and lives. May God enables us to yield to the Holy Spirit to allow him to empower us to do the work that we ought to be doing as Christian, that God wants us to do the work that God has left us here to do in order that we may accomplish that which he wants us to do.

Whispering the word version. Thank you for your word. We thank you for the ministry of the Holy Spirit In Our Lives. Who regeneration.

Who baptizes us? And who is the guarantee of our Eternal salvation. We thank you for the fact that we can know for sure there were children of God because of that work. We thank you for the fact that we are equipped for eternity because of that work of the Holy Spirit, we thank you for the fact that we have fellow Christians in the, in the church in the local church and the church Universal. Who can be a support and a hell to us, because we are part of that body. We thank you, Father, for all that you have done in our behalf and we pray that you will enable us to live for you from day today. In order that you may be going fine, until our lord, Jesus comes before we pray in Jesus name. Amen.
