We are continuing our series this morning in the Ephesians. Titled the Body Armor/ Armor of God.
In the same way someone would not go into battle without equipment or play football without a helmet and pads, Christians must put on the armor God has given us to withstand evil temptations that come our way. Over the course of six weeks, this series will explain and apply each article in the armor of God—as described by Paul in Ephesians 6:10-18.
We are in the 5 week of these series. This week we be look at other part that is key to the armor of God. The Helmet of Salvation.
So if you have your bible turn to Ephesians 2:8-9. IF you do not have your bible you can follow a long on the screen in a few moments.
Last week we talk about the Shield of Faith. Faith is be able to believe in the unseen. You can’t genuinely follow God without putting your trust in him and his promise. Thats faith. It only take a little faith to move mountains.
Before we look at the Helmet of Salvation. I have a question for you. So think for a moment.

How many helmet different type of helmet are there?

bicycle, Dirt bike, Motor cycle, fire fight,. Whats some other you can think of.
So do we have so many different type of helmets? Don’t they all the the same thing? They all protect the head for injury.
You see all the different helmet each one has a point to the job it’s for. Fire helmet protect for fire and falling debris.
So the question might come up.

What does the helmet of salvation do?

if all the other helmet have a point does the helmet of salvation have one too.
Ephesians 6:17 CSB
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God.
Before we can put on the helmet of salvation. We have to understand what salvation is.
Ephesians 2:8–9 CSB
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast.

What is salvation?

Salvations is is defined as the deliverance from the power and effects of sin.

We are all sinners

Ephesians 2:1–3 CSB
1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins 2 in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit now working in the disobedient. 3 We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also.

We are all sinners

SIn is the easy way. Each and everyone can and will fall into sin of some kind but you see there is no great sin than the other. They are all equal. This sin is what devides us from God. God can not look upon sin. He has to look the other way. Sin is completely not God. Sin is of the world the prince of Darkness. It drives a wedge between us and God. There is some we can do. There is something That God gives us to help with that.

You might think you are unloved because of the sin in your life

This by for not true. You are loved beyond you can image by God.
Ephesians 2:4–6 CSB
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us, 5 made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! 6 He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus,

God show us mercy

God does not have to love us because of the sin we have choice. You see he choice to show is love and mercy because he loves you for you. He has an abundant love that we have no clue about. You see this mercy is that he sent is Son for us.

Sin is equals death

Sin because of the mercy of God. We do not have to face death. We can live and be raised into heaven. We have nothing to fear any longer. We

God’s gift of salvation

Ephesians 2:8–9 CSB
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast.

Salvation is free to all of us

Have you accepted this free gift?

Are you ready to put on this helmet?

The most important one you will ever put on.
Salvation is offered to us, not because of anything we did to deserve it, but as a gift because of God’s love for us
