1. Abiding in the Word
a. John 15:4-5
i. Simple verse, no secret. Christ is the Vine, we are the branches.
ii. How’s your fruit? Inventory it.
b. John 1:1
i. If we are to abide in the word and the Word is Christ then we need to be where? The Bible; A sin not to.
c. Exegete John 15:4-10. ABIDE 9 times.
i. It is a sin not to read your Bible.
2. Witnesses
a. Acts 1:8 Empowered to go!
i. Is this your omission sin?
b. I Peter 3:15 Set yourself apart.
i. Be ready to give an answer.
ii. Do you have an answerer?
c. Mark 3:38
i. Are you ashamed to publicly say I’m a Christian?
3. Service (through Spiritual Gifts)
a. Ephesians 4:8 We all have them!
i. Take a spiritual inventory gift test.
4. Purpose in your heart;
a. Romans 6:14
i. God has promised victory over sin; we need to claim it!
b. Hebrews 4:1
i. We must determine in our hearts that we will defeat the sin in our lives. We will confess it, repent of it, and call upon GOD to help us.
ii. Settle for nothing less than the full victory Jesus purchased on the cross.
5. Pastors – Teachers – Leaders (responsibilities)
a. James 3:1 – Accountability
i. Accountable to study, to teach, to lead.
ii. No Saturday night specials.
b. Luke 12:48 – Accountability
i. To whom much is given much is required.
6. Fervently Seeking God
a. Jeremiah 29:13 enough said.
i. Question: Are you seeking HIM?
b. James 5:15
i. Are you a righteous man?
7. Obedience
a. James 1:23-24 The lost man; refusing to receive the word. Is this you?
b. Luke 12:47 The servant, ignoring the will of the Master. Is this you?
c. Philippians 2:13Striving to please God. Does that describe you?
8. Worship (added by me.)
a. Neglecting to give God our best.
i. Are headed to Hardees or church?
ii. Prayer, Bible, Joy, Praise, what are you omitting.
iii. If you can’t lead follow, silently.
9. Conclusion: This is a time to be honest with God and with yourself?
