Una madre de ejemplo--Rizpa
2 Samuel 21:1-21:13
I. Introducción
a. Hoy es el "Día de la Madre". La madre tiene un lugar muy importante en el mundo, en la iglesia, en el reino del Señor. Apreciamos y damos gracias a Dios por las madres fieles, las que cumplen con la responsabilidad que Dios le ha dado en sus hogares, las que influyen a sus hijos para seguir a Dios.
b. Abraham Lincoln once said: "Behind every great man, is a great mother!"
c. Una madre dijo una vez a su hijo que es dios que hace Buena la gente. Él contestó: Sí lo se, pero las madres ayudan bastante también.
d. I want to preach about one of the great texts of a mother that is often forgotten in the Scripture. Most of us have never heard of her. We know of Mary, Elizabeth, Rachel, Rebekah, Hannah, Ruth, and Naomi; however, our text gives us another mother worthy of our examination.
e. Her name is Rizpa.
II. We find her II Samuel 21.
a. Saúl había muerto. David es rey. Han pasado tres años de hambre y David pregunta al Señor de la razón. The Lord revealed the actions of Saul toward the gabaonitas fue la causa del hambre
b. En el tiempo de Josué Israel había hecho un pacto con los gabaonitas pero Saúl quebranto el pacto. Como resultado dios está castigando a Israel.
c. David approaches the Gibeonites to find out how he can make things right. The Gibeonites request that seven sons of Saul be hanged.
d. The seven men slain for Saul’s offence against the Gibeonites included the two sons of Rizpah, the concubine of Saul and the five sons of Mical, Saul’s eldest daughter.
e. En versículo 10 tenemos una historia muy sobresaliente que muestra la devoción de una madre.
i. Rizpa era una viuda, ahora sus únicos dos hijos le son quitados y ahorcados. Hubiera tenido toda razón para sentir lástima por ella misma, sentarse con gran tristeza y desesperación.
ii. No le fue posible salvar la vida de sus dos hijos, pero con determinación decidió hacer todo lo que fuera posible para salvarles de la última desgracia—ser comido por las aves y las fieras bestias.
1. It was the law, of that day, that anyone put to death under these circumstances could not be buried. They had to hang there until the vultures picked them clean, or the beasts tore them down; HOWEVER, Rizpah was determined her sons were going to have an honorable burial.
iii. Ella con determinación dejó su casa y fue al monte a los cuerpos deformados y quemados por el sol de sus amados hijos. Tendió una tela de cilicio sobre un peñasco haciendo un lugar que iba a ser su hogar por 5 largos meses.
iv. Imagine la escena—esta mujer allí en el monte echado sobre esa roca día tras día, cansada de tristeza y el trabajo de proteger esos cuerpos.
v. De día cuando se acercaban los zopilotes, otras aves, salía agitando los brazos para ahuyentarlos; en la noche escuchaba por las fieras del campo – trataba de divisar los ojos de los lobos, etc.. y les tiraba piedras y les gritaba – en el calor sofocante del día y el frío de la noche – allí permanecía – temblando con fatiga y a veces con miedo – sola
vi. Algunos quizá la alababan pero muchos se burlaban – decía que era loca, que le había torcida la mente. Pero nunca se dio por vencida. Por 5 meses.
vii. Hay un mensaje aquí más brillante que la tristeza de esta tragedia. El gran tema fundamental de esta historia es la profundidad del amor de una madre.
III. Una madre de ejemplo por su preferencia – v. 10
a. Rizpa amaba a sus hijos más que cualquier otra cosa. Los prefirió sobre las comodidades de su hogar. Sus hijos eran una prioridad a ella.
b. Hay un precio que hay que pagar para ser una buena madre. Muchos hoy no quieren pagar ese precio
i. Comodidad y dinero – dos o tres hijos – suficientes – “Herencia de Jehová son los hijos
1. Salen a trabajar: se van a los estados y dejan atrás a los hijos – que gran contraste a esta madre
2. No pensaba en ella misma y sus necesidades – su vida giraba alrededor de las necesidades de sus hijos
ii. No quieren estar encerradas en la casa -- pasear, divertirse
1. He oído a personas criticar a madres porque nunca salen, sólo se quedan trabajando en la casa, cuidando a sus hijos – su preferencia es estar con sus hijos, cuidar a sus hijos, criar a sus hijos
2. Pablo amonestaba a Timoteo: 1 Ti. 5:14; Tito 2:4, 5
iii. Jocabed fue llamada - no para ser una mujer grande en Israel, no para predicar a los egipcios - sino - "llevad a este niño y críamelo." Este es el llamamiento dado a toda madre. El primer deber de una madre todavía es de amar y dar, y hacer fuerte su hijo para la vida y para el servicio a Dios
1. Jocabed un ejemplo a nosotros no por algo grande que ella hizo pero en como sirvió tan bien como una madre. Es un ejemplo no porque crió a hijos que llegaron a ser millonarios, presidentes, etc... pero hijos que llegaron a ser muy útiles para el servicio del Señor.
a. Aarón - un sacerdote; Moisés - profeta y líder del pueblo; María - ayudó a sus hermanos; nunca se casó pero dio su vida en servicio de su pueblo
IV. Una madre de ejemplo por su sacrificio
a. I think she was also demonstrating that she would make any personal sacrifice necessary in order to gain a burial place for her children.
b. Ya mencionamos su comodidad – su tiempo, su salud, su dinero, su vida
c. Madres – trabajo rutinario – no hay tiempo para hacer sus propias cosas –
d. Niños enfermos – no puede dormir bien en la noche – siente cansada día tras día
e. Consolarles cuando se lastiman, tomar tiempo para escuchar sus pequeños problemas, tiempo para corregir y disciplinar
V. Una madre de ejemplo por su protección
a. No había mucho para proteger—sólo cuerpos sin vida—pasaban los días, las semanas, los meses – menos y menos –se podría y caía la carne – hedía – quizá al fin sólo el esqueleto – pero allí estaba, determinada que sus hijos tendrían un entierro honorable.
b. Imagine the beast of the field she would have to fight off. David had to fight off a lion and a bear to protect his sheep. She had the courage to stand her ground. She willingly put her life on the line for her boys. She had courage to fight against those that wanted her sons.
c. El enemigo anda alrededor de nuestros hijos como un león rugiente, buscando devorarlos
d. Protegerlos en el sentido físico. – Son pequeños, necesitan ayuda.
e. Should we not stand against the world, the flesh, and the devil that want to devour our children? I can only imagine the courage it took Rizpah to fight against those that wanted to devour her sons.
f. Y allí estaba, alerta, cuidadosa, presente
g. Influencias, de otros niños, de familiares, de falsas enseñanzas – del tele,
h. Lo bueno y lo malo; el perdón; el respeto; la obediencia; la pureza
i. Are you there to command? Are you there to correct? Are you there to counsel? Are you there to comfort? SU PRESENCIA!
ii. Enseñar; leer las historias de la Luz de la Vida; Sendas Derechas
iii. Contestar sus preguntas
i. Con su ejemplo – fidelidad a Dios, a la iglesia
j. Ej. of Lot=s wife
i. spent her life trying to provide a good life for her children - in Sodom.
ii. she lost them, the last her daughters remember of their mother is seeing her as a pillar of salt because of her love for Sodom and disobedience to God
iii. proteger – su vestir; su peinado; sus amigos
iv. Do you want to give them something, do you want to give them the only thing that can protect them from the evil one -- then give THEM Jesus...... Start early, building your relationship with them and their’s with God... Will you determine today, now ... to protect your children... The church is here to help if you let them...

VI. Una madre de ejemplo por su perseverancia
a. For five to six long months she stood against the wild animals that wanted to feed on the bodies of her two sons.
b. Mothers, how much time are you willing to give to the responsibility of Motherhood? How diligent, persistent, and dedicated are you willing to be?
c. Right now it may not be as you wish with your children. However, the final results are not in. Rizpah didn’t succeed in a month or two, but her perseverance led her onward. Mother, don’t give up hope; continue to be dedicated to the ongoing task of being a Mother.
i. Rizpa persevere en la faz de muchas dificultades
1. Estaba dedicada a su tarea
ii. Rizpah Preserved in the Face of Danger.
1. Probably there were those who said to her, "Go home Rizpah, you must be very tired. You are sacrificing your life and your reason for those whom you can never bring back again to your bosom."
2. I imagine Rizpah must have replied, "How dare you tell me to go home, I am a mother. I am not tired. I cared for those boys when they lay upon my breast in infancy, and I am not going to forsake them now when they are .”
iii. Usted madre – tendra que perseverar por más que 5 meses. Año tras año de estar allí, disponible, sacrificando sus deseos, su tiempo, etc.. protegiendo
iv. Como el testimonio de un hermano:
1. Yo recuerdo un día cuando yo estaba depravado, destituido, rebelde, desobediente,
2. Pero, como Rizpa, había una que acampó en la puerta de mi corazón, por años y años, y ella no permitió que los zopilotes y fieras del pecado me despedazaran. ¿Por qué? Por un amor inpensable, inexplicable, e incondicional
3. Su consejo, sus lágrimas, sus oraciones
v. Si Rizpa tenía un amor especial – y aquí lo tenemos archivado.
VII.La recompensa de su amor
a. But, not only do we see her love recorded, but, we see her love rewarded.
b. Notice verse 11. David gets the news of what Rizpah has done, and while many would have thought her to mad, and insane, he was moved by her care, concern, and compassion.
c. Notice verse 12,13. David goes and takes the bodies of those 7 boys, including Rizpah’s 2 boys, and prepares a proper burial for them.
d. Rizpah wanted a burial for her sons, but she never dreamed they would receive a royal burial. These two sons died, not because of their own doings, but because of the sins of their father, Saul. Yet their mother stands by their side until King David sends and gives them a decent burial.
e. Una recompensa no solo en su muerte – sirviendo al Señor; una vida útil para otros y para la obra del Señor; una vida fructífera y sana y ejemplar para otros.
f. May God give us mothers like Rizpah who will hazard her own life and body to care for and protect her young. She was rewarded for her preferencia, presencia, sacrificio, su protección, y su perseverancia
VIII. Tres fuentes de ánimo y ayuda
a. Una determinación de hacer la voluntad del Señor
i. James Keller says, "Cada madre tiene el conmovedor privilegio de compartir con Dios en la creación de una nueva vida. Y cuando Dios coloca un niño o niños en sus brazos, es Su voluntad que usted los crie en un hogar donde conopcerán a Dios y Su Palabra, y Jesucristo como su Salvador y Señor.
1. Madres como Jocabed, Ana, María, Eunice, Loida
2. Impulsado por un ferviente deseo y determinación de hacer la voluntad del Señor.
ii. Hijos obedientes
1. Hijos obedecer en el Señor – honrar y respetar a sus padres; a su madre
2. Ella ha hecho y está haciendo tanto para su bienestar, para cuidarle, para protegerle, para suplir sus necesidades –
iii. Un esposo que le apoya
1. Rizpa no tenía; muchas madres no tienen
2. Padres – apoya a sus esposas – no deja la crianza de los hijos a ellas—toma tiempo para sus hijos
iv. El ánimo y ayuda de otros
1. Hermanas – anímense la una a la otra en esta gran obra
2. La ayuda y enseñanza de la iglesia – queremos ayudarles
