How do we help people find truth? (Scientology)

Me

Have you ever tried to tell people the truth but they wouldn’t believe you?

Offroading with H3- didn’t want to listen about trail 5 (video?)

Transition:

We

Everybody here knows a person that has all the answers… but they really don’t know anything

Adults- Cliff Claven from Cheers- work (How do we help people find truth?)

Students- friend everybody tolerates- parents (How do we help people find truth?)

Scientology- Ron Hubbard (sci-fi)- egrams

Pastor in Mexico (Montezuma’s temple- hearts, cutting, smoke)

You know this- drives us crazy- heart- $1000- cut- kill myself

Maybe you are here because you think that this saves you…

Transition: Throughout the Bible and in my own experience, I have found that When their answers fall apart, people listen to those who are God Different. Norma

God

Story of Elijah and Mount Carmel

1 Kings 18:21 Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him." But the people said nothing.

1 Kings 18:39 When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, "The LORD -he is God! The LORD -he is God!"

Transition: Now that’s a cool story, right?  Now, I believe that God could instruct any one of us to call down fire from heaven, but to this date I think He has only allowed Elijah to do it, so (How do we help people find truth?)

You

I think as a general rule, many people have to see their answers fail before they accept God.   Because  When their answers fall apart, people listen to those who are God Different.

The people on Mount Carmel had to watch their answers fall apart- they thought they had to do all this stuff… but When their answers fall apart, people listen to those who are God Different.

The guy I was offroading with wouldn’t listen to me until his answer to the problem fell apart.

Norma is a tough lady, and when she couldn’t do it on her own, her answer was the strength of her mom.  But now her mom can’t be there for her.  Her answers fell apart.  When their answers fall apart, people listen to those who are God Different.

Your friend who knows everything but knows nothing.  Maybe your family member that has it all figured out.  Be God different with them.  Share your faith with them now if they let you.  Then pray.  Because one day, When their answers fall apart, they will listen to you because you are God Different.

Finally, a few of us may be here thinking coming to church, or praying, or reading your Bible is the answer.  Ultimately all of those answers will fall apart too.  The only way you can be God Different is if you trust in Jesus to forgive you of your sins, and give your life to the pursuit of God

Challenge:  My challenge to all here tonight is to be God Different.  Never asked Jesus, ask tonight.  If you have asked Jesus, stay for a few minutes and practice being God different with us.

Transition: Will that really happen?  Do people’s answers ever fall apart?

We

I have never met anyone who hasn’t had trouble in their lives.  Do you know how many people are losing their Jobs, their cars, their houses because of the economy?  Do you think people’s answers are falling apart right now?  This could be the greatest revival for Jesus if you and I would just stand up and be God-Different for Him.
