Roy, let's open in prayer.
My dear heavenly father.
We thank you.
You rejoice in the opportunity to be able to come in to gaze into the person of your son, to see the work that he has accomplished on our behalf to think of his character of his purpose.
We thank you for the grace provision that you'd given us in and through our Lord Jesus Christ.
the Lamb of God that was slain before the foundations of the year we are told God is he was ready.
He was committed in the billable for this entire Sim debacle to be taken care of and he took care of it.
And then some and so we thank you, certainly father.
We thank you for this morning as we gaze into your word.
We asked if we would find ourselves change, conformed and encouraged Whatever we might have need of whether it be supporting.
Directing encouraging.
Lord, rebuking whatever you have in mind.
We ask that your scripture, your word would fulfill that purpose, that your sheep may be well, groomed and taken care of.
We thank you for your provision.
We understand that we need to be walking in the filling of your spirit.
But we might be able to have your resources to understand the word of God, not ours, but yours.
And so, we take the moment for confession of any known sin, we might be able to walk in Fellowship in the flooring of your spirit is Manor into this time.
With all my heart, I have sought thee, do not.
Let me Wander from my Commandments.
How can a young man?
Keep his way pure by keeping it according to Thy Word, By word, I have treasured in my heart that I might not sin against thee.
So dearly father, we thank you for this time.
We dedicate it to you.
We praise you and we worship you, blessed.
Be the name of your lord of our Lord and savior your son.
Jesus Christ.
Amen.
All right.
Last week, we noted.
Go.
Before I do that, let me go here.
so, what I speak to the academic shower and just studying the word of God, and the church setting, Studying God's word is the most serious thing you do during the week, whether you realize it or not.
And some people approach this time with the attitude of academic discipline and focus others, haven't learned what that is yet until we extend Grace and we encourage them and point them to do an inside of that.
This attitude has been encouraged and instructed from the pulpit and is part of the rigor of the discipline of the study of God's word, we have reviewed the scriptural, precedents and reasons.
And of establish, the gods model for instruction, is an authoritative 1, wherein he is the authority, and the study of his word is entered into through the Teaching Ministry of the pastor who has to speak and teach with authority.
For example, Titus 2:15, wearied speak, these things.
Paul is admonishing Titus as to how to proceed as if I speak these things.
What you have learned the readings, the teachings, exhort and rebuke with all authority, lets no one despise you.
And other words don't buckle into anyone else's Authority.
Telling you how things are with the doctrine is how things are supposed to go.
Instead, be aware of what scripture has to say.
That's a good good inside their notice.
It says speak.
Now, these things that is give insight into the scripture, teach the scripture, read the scripture, make scripture, the core of the curriculum and nothing else, and then, he says, tosses them, this little word exhort And exhort means a few things.
It means to encourage one another.
To actually, when you find exhort or encourage it is typically the same Greek word that we find there.
To it means to encourage, but it can mean encourage in a number of ways.
There were a number of times and my parents encouraged me.
Do do the right thing when I haven't been doing the right thing and so they pulled out the paddle of encouragement and deployed into the seed of learning that I might be able to move forward.
Sometimes encouragement means we are speaking.
Praise for accomplishments.
Do you got an A on the test?
That is a good thing.
We like A's in this household.
Will reward you for doing good working for following through and developing the character and discipline that's needed.
Unfortunately I didn't need character and discipline to get a raise.
I just walked in and always did so they had to teach me character and discipline another way.
So,
And then rebuke with all the authority.
So these things are just part of the process of teaching.
I was talking last night with a bob Bollinger down in Austin, Bible Church.
Speaking about a few things that we're going to be teaching, and then it always happens with pastors.
We talked about the process of caring for Sheet which is primarily teaching But I did admit to him.
There are times when I pull the car over and I preach for a few minutes and that could be another way of understanding exhortation where you going to get a little bit not preachy, not trying to be preachy, but just a little bit excited, a little bit flavored by the text, there is just this thing that happens when you immerse something and something else there is an absorption.
When I put a towel down on spill coffee, it absorbs the coffee.
When I put my towel down on the wet floor because my shower overspray and I made a big mess, didn't get the door shut or something.
Then I put the tile down and absorbs the water.
The other day I was working on something and I put a little paper towel in a little small container of white vinegar that I was using to soak a little piece of metal in to get all the rust off using the acid to can a take away the rust.
In soy to help clean it.
At one point, I picked up the paper towels soaked it in the vinegar.
So the paper towel was vinegary.
I sometimes had the perspective of certain individuals.
Have been soaked in vinegar or soaked in lemonade and you know, they may have a Sweet Disposition or they may have a tart and sour disposition in life.
It's been sad better.
When everything smells like Limburger to you and might be that you got a little Limburger and your mustache.
We have a tendency to take you and what we are spending time with.
And so to house were studying and preparing the text, we tend to soak it up and so there can be those times when we get a little bit excited or we want we want to reflect the flavor of what's there in the tax of what's being taught.
No. Also we have a second Timothy 4:2.
We're Timothy has been told to preach the word.
Really, that means to Proclaim.
To teach it.
To make know that what you understand about God's word, he says be ready in season and out of season, convince rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and teaching that means be patient.
You're going to have to do it again and again and again and keep saying the same things.
That is the process of Chi-Chi.
You inculcate knowledge through repetition, we repeat it and we repeat it and we repeat it.
We keep on coming back this, how I change happens, that is how things are absorbed.
No, I know.
It is hard to keep up.
At times with the material that is presented in here and I know that the material is not always clear to all of you as it's being presented.
No, sometimes that's just me because as they say, a little bit of mist in the mind of the speaker can create a great fog in the ears of the listeners.
And so sometimes I'm a little bit Misty, and Not careful about what I say.
