I. No More Temple
I. No More Temple
22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
Because of sin on earth, God withdrew his presence from mankind. He had Moses and others build a tabernacle,
And later he had Solomon build a temple* where the people would go to worship.
He separated himself from them by residing in the Holy of Holies* (Ark of the Covenant), and having priests serve as mediators.
After the Millennium, however, things will be different. A temple will not be needed since sin will not be present in the Holy City.
God will have no need to separate himself from his people*. Mediators will not be necessary.
The glorious presence of the Father and the Son will permeate the entire city.
The Bible is filled with truths that are difficult to understand but wonderful to speculate on.
One of them is the fact that when he appears, we (believers) shall be like him (1 John 3:2).
We will have great insight, great love, and everything else that Jesus has. Also, we will not have a sin nature that could separate us from him.
Also, this is another difference between ancient Babylon and the new creation. Ancient Babylon had its temple area. The famous Temple of Marduk stood there. (God of Babylon)
But things like this won’t be needed in the New Jerusalem.

23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
The Father and Son are the source of physical light. They spoke light into existence when they created* the sun, the moon, and the stars. (day 4)
But they will do away with these when they create the new heaven and earth because their presence in the Holy City will eliminate the need for other heavenly lights.
Think about this. It means we can be in the Holy City, several hundred miles from God, and not need a light.
The light of God will cover an area almost as large as the eastern half of the U.S., and still be visible in outer space.
The Fourth Bowl Judgment caused the sun to scorch men with fire. This cannot happen in the New Jerusalem.

24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
The new earth will be populated with the children of Israel, and the descendants of those who did not follow Satan in his final rebellion after the Millennium.
Nations and leaders already will be on the new earth when the Holy City comes out of heaven. They will walk in the light coming from that city instead of the light of the sun and moon.
The inhabitants of the new earth will travel to the Holy City—not to live but to worship. The Holy City will be the future home of the Church. The new earth will be the future home of Israel and all others who will be saved after the Rapture.
During the Tribulation Period, the kings of the earth will take their wealth to Babylon and commit fornication with the harlot (Revelation 17:9–10).
During eternity, the kings of the earth will take glory and honor to the New Jerusalem and worship God.
24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you’d would like to receive Jesus today, please pray this prayer with all of us:
Lord I believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that He died On the cross for my sins and His resurrection from the dead gives me eternal life. I ask forgiveness of my sins, and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
